Hello NamePros Members -

My name is Todd and I am the Executive Director of LeadRefs.com. I was wondering if any of you would be interested in a free month trial of the lead generation service? I have five free one month trials I can give out. I would love to get some feedback of what the regular domainer likes/dislikes about the product. I really value the opinion of fellow domainers and have an open mind.

For those that have never heard of LeadRefs.com, let me briefly sum it up. We offer a lead generation service that connects domain owners with potential buyers for their domains. We recently have also started to offer an Expired Package that lists all the top domains with the most leads daily from the Pending Delete list, GoDaddy, NameJet and SnapNames Exclusive Pre-Release lists.

I really think we have a service that is benefiting the domainer and the end-user as a whole. Getting domainers a return on their investment while also pairing the domains with end users who will maximize the value of the domain.

So if any of you are interested in that free trial, just send me a private message and I will have it all setup.

For further reading, we have been featured in some domain blogs that you can check out:

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
GoDaddyGoDaddy
Trying the 3 day trial. Just submitted tapvisa.com. Received a message "Our internal risk system has prevented us from finding leads for this domain due to its material".

Not sure why?

Bolded is why.

Service seems very costly, seems out of reach of most domainers, I think if you made it more affordable you would see a larger base using it, many of the services are offered in broken up forms from other sites for free, if you know where to look, which most domainers do...

Right now there is not another service on the market that provides end user relevant and targeted leads for expiring domains from GoDaddy, NameJet and SnapNames Exclusive plus Pending Delete in a clear and simple interface. That is just my opinion and all cards on the table - obviously I have a financial incentive.

But when you look at where the domaining business is headed, I truly believe domain selling/flipping is the new form of domain parking. Those looking for expired domains or typo domains to park are living in the past (no www's :D)

If you just look at the recent Afternic sales, there were eight expired flips for almost $11,000 (http://www.leadrefs.com/blog/?p=674) And the week before that there were like five at Sedo for almost $15,000 (http://www.leadrefs.com/blog/?p=649). So that just shows you how there is opportunity in this business.

You can trial and pick up some of these expired domains and try to sell. If you aren't able to sell them then that is no big deal and no one is forcing you to subscribe to the service. If you approach it from the perspective of a month's expired package at $50, then all you have to do is sell one domain to justify that expense and on average there are over 1,000 domains expiring daily with more than five relevant targeted end user leads per domain.

So you think all expired domains go into some bidding war at a backorder provider? OK then wait after they expire and pick a few up at reg cost. There are hundreds of domains that are not sniped that you can pick up at registration cost after they drop. Again, that is just my experience.

In reference to the "other services" point you touched on. I started out using services like Estibot and ZFBOT until I saw the inefficiency with them. We have done multiple case studies showing how they do not provide you with all the relevant and targeted end user leads per domain or even relevant and targeted leads in general.

With Estibot they are charging $100 or close to it the last time I checked to get emails/any end user data for your domains. ZFBOT doesn't give you any emails. Both places don't provide any easily identifiable expiring lead data. Also, if Estibot continues with their future plans they are going to try and do something similar and charge nearly $200 a month for it. So you would be paying $150 more a month plus getting less relevant and targeted data for it.

Obviously I am biased towards our service but I certainly understand and respect many of the multiple points raised in this thread. Everything has been well taken and much appreciated. One last thing I must stress is that we are a small startup trying our best to serve the interests of the domaining community and we are continuously releasing new features for our customers. I can't say the same thing for all other services.

Todd

HMMMM, Over a week and no answer yet

...you mean like the travelling medicine show with the barker selling snake-oil...or maybe the rainmaker going from town to town telling the drought-weary population that he can, he will make it rain.

Then as quietly and quickly as they enter the town is as with the same methods that they depart.

Something like that?

I can see the problem with this service is not just a price... but it's actually that it only gives you the same domains like you input. That you can actually do in any bulk search tool or multi tld availability tool. Then just check the Whois and you have the email... ;)

Better way is to search by the topic of the domain name... short, keywords, geo...

What's the snake oil? I tried it out, works like it says.

They have the leads no doubt, No argument there. I sent the name acure.org for them to broker, I got the response. " We need to do more research on the name, And said they would get back to me. I waited about 10 days, No email, So i posted in this thread about it. Was told in this thread they would see what the deal is and get back to me, Have waited since the 30th of May for response, Still nothing. All i wanted was a yes or no answer. Customer service is the biggest part of any business, With out it, A business is poop, No matter how great the product or service is. IMO.

A good place to find possible end user leads, Way over priced though. The three day trial was worth while, I wouldn't pay the high fee for the service though. Just put all the other extensions of domain name in Google, Boom, There are your direct leads. Outside of that, To find an end user, One will need to pursue businesses individually IMO.

Follow Up

I did receive a email today from LedRefs with apologies on lack of communication regarding the brokerage of acure.org . It was a very respectable email with circumstances beyond their control, such as the many requests for domain brokerage, I can only imagine, They have sent out some emails to prospective buyers for name with no bites yet. I can understand their position on this.

We have had three people request to have their membership canceled and all three were promptly canceled.

Regarding the domain brokerage, I had an experience similar to .X. where I received a reply a bit after submitting a domain saying, "Thanks for submitting your domain to our brokerage service. We will analyze the domain and get back to you with any news."

After not hearing back for awhile I took it as a 'not interested', but, I think that it is a small issue that LeadRefs should look at adjusting how they reply to brokerage requests as that reply kind of leaves domain owners in limbo.

When you say international companies, what do you mean? Like ccTLD domains?

I'd be interested in knowing if you do ccTLD's
in specific - .ca's?

You can find .ca leads for your .com domains.
But you can't find .ca-.ca at this time.
