I am "playing" with godaddy just now and while I was trying to look for a funny and weird name, I just found that the word "Lankiest" still available.

Then I checked the name at Dictionary.com.
Here is the meaning:

Lankiest:
- ungracefully thin and rawboned; bony; gaunt: a very tall and lanky man.

Not only that, I also tried to search "Lankiest" at Google and at the end of the day, I'm quite shocked but very impressive after I know that the "Lankiest" word has about 34,500 results! Well.... not bad for a single uncommon word.

The only different is maybe the word itself not been use by many of us compare to "biggest" , "thinnest", "tallest" and etc.

Should I keep this word for 10 years ahead so that the value of this word will keep increase?

Or should I sell it now?
If YES, how much the value of this name?

Thanks... guys. I really appreciate your appraisal.

I think every new domainer is enamoured of one word dictionary .coms to start off with ( I know I was ), but from what I've seen, they're not really worth anything unless they are stem words, or derivations of huge keywords.

e.g. here's some one word .coms available right now:

shapeliest.com
mealier.com
finickier.com
chiefest.com
satirising.com

I think we can all agree that shape.com/shapely.com/meal.com/chief.com would be great names to own.
So why are these derivations still available? Answer: experienced domainers have seen them available, but decided they are not worth reg fee.

I don't know if you have registered it ( it appears to have been reg'd at name.com, not godaddy ), but I would advise you to not keep lankiest for 10 years. I would advise you to not register it at all, or if you already have, seek a refund from your registrar.

:imho:

Sorry to rain on your parade.

Keep it for 10 years. Don't sell it now. It will give you good money. Cheers

thank guys.... appreciate that. this is the best thread for appraisal because DP and DNF seems don't give this much of info...!

in my opinion you should flip it. keeping it for 10 years does not guarantee value increase as the domain name itself is not a very well known word.
put it up in the offers wanted section and get an idea of what is the current value.

I second -NC-'s appraisal, these types of names are very hard sell specially to resellers, every now and then you might come across an end user who wants them but that is like winning a lottery, very risky investment.
