Hi guy i like to share what i read in the article about the extra-ordinary english.
I think many of you wouldn't know what is ormonyms&oxymorons?,it is a fun with english .let us enjoy it.
Ormonyms:words so arranged so as to evoke overtones of other words are called ormonyms.
an example is
"ICE CREAM"
it may also sound like
"I SCREAM"
some of the ormonyms are:
Nitrate-Night rate
At all-A tall
Therapist-The rapist
Now here-No where
what a gray day- what a grade A
i'm talking a nice cold shower-i'm talking an ice-cold shower.
he would kill hamlet for the reason-he would kill hamlet for that treason.
some others i've seen are kind and generous-some mothers i've seen are kind and genourous.
Ormonyms are also known as junctures and holorimes.
Oxymorons: Oxymorons is a figure of speach involving two semantically exclusive or contradictary terms.the word " bitter sweet"is a good example of an oxymoron .bitter and sweet contains two contradictory senses.
example :
pretty ugly.
plastic glasses
light heavy wieght
baby elephant
being cruel to be kind.
a cheerful pessimist.
peaceful war
false truth.
a wise fool.
