I decided to grab this because it seems somewhat brandable down the road.

any thoughts on this or a possible value?

mate seriously you need to go get some therapy about the whole having knorr and letting it go thing rather than taking it out on everyone on here. it does beg the question that if you received advice on here re that in the past that turned out to be bad , why come back now and ask us again about a different name? a wise man would learn from past mistakes and not repeat them. man up and take responsability for your decisions - it was your choice ultimately to let it go , no-one elses.

just because a name exists that someone, someday might decide they want doesn't make it a good investment as it might never happen. to me thats a bad reason to buy a domain. theres probably someone, somewhere in scotland right now called jacob mcballbags but you're not gonna reg that just in case he wakes up one day in 30 years time deciding he wants to set up his own sperm donor service called mcballbags.com are you

Well, my middle name isn't Reg Fee for nothing, lol.

I used to own Knorr.com a couple years ago and let it expire. It's now worth 57k on estibot.

I've been trying to give you the benefit of the doubt; but when you just outright lie, how can we want to listen to anything you say?

Remember: there are tools we can use to check any/everything you say. Some free tools and some paid services that can show a domain's entire registrant (ownership) history, nameserver history, etc. And these tools show that knorr.com's nameservers haven't changed since at least before 2002. If a domain is ever dropped, sold, or even just expires for a day or two and is renewed in time, the nameservers would show a change. The nameservers for knorr.com have been with Unilever, steady and with no change, for at least 13 years.

Also Knorr is a huge brand of food (not a restaurant) owned by Unilever (who also has many other brands, like Lipton - the tea); Unilever would have bought the domain years ago, or made you high offers for it, or sued you to get it rightfully. Unilever is not passive about owning the domains for their brands, they actively pursue buying up their brands' domains and would not have just ignored knorr 'if/while' you had it. They own so many brands (I stopped counting at 80), and while they don't own the dot coms for all of them, they try. For examples they also own Lipton.com for the teas, Dove.com for the soap, etc. They pay a lot of money to buy high value domains for their brands, or for the domain to be included when they buy up any new business that is already branded and owning the domain.

And even if you're just going by estibot evaluation: a couple years ago knorr.com would still have shown a value of tens of thousands of dollars, with many extensions taken also. So you'd have known you have a very valuable domain. Even ten years ago, this would have been a very valuable domain. To buy it yourself (as you said you did) you'd have had to pay four or five figures at least, to a domain reseller. And I'm betting even you won't tell us you spent thousands, or tens of thousands, on knorr.com and then let it drop. However, you never owned it, so all those details are moot.

Now, kindness: just be careful and forthright. Stop making up stuff as you go along. I'll still listen to you and give you a chance - everyone gets their voice, with me - but you're really hurting your rep for people here when you made up this whopper on the fly.

Best wishes, I hope to see better, some growth, from you.

I didn't lie. I was off by a few years. The creation date was 2010. Why in the hell would I lie?? What happened is, one of my employees at the time was starting a side business selling tshirts, and he named it "knorr", and so I bought the name for him, back in 2010! I think I renewed it once, but can't remember.

Here is the record - CREATED from 2010. Maybe you looked up the wrong name?

It's not really making me feel better that you're calling it a whopper. I'm already kicking myself over it. I messaged my former employee yesterday. Thought I would ruin his day as well.

Good grief. Why on earth would I lie.

Here's a quick story.... when the swineflu first emerged in 2009, I bought swineflu.net and swineflu.org for the reg fees. I sold swineflu.net within a week later for 3k. I also sold swinefluinformation for around 2500 within that week. I still own swineflu.org and I ended up putting a forum on it, as I thought the pandemic was going to be a bad one. Now, if it was a killer pandemic, swineflu.org probably would have been worth a mill, and possibly the biggest site (forum) in the world. Luckily it was a mild pandemic, and of course the name isn't worth much now because of that. Any idea how good you have to be to buy that name at the reg fee? I had to beat everyone. Look at the creation date of it vs. the date the swine flu first emerged. I sold around 3 domains from it within a week and made around 7k - 8k. Not a bad markup from the reg fees. So I'm no stranger to losing whoppers, and stumbling on to good buys.

I just bought gnors.com a few minutes ago. Hell, I'm still chasing the one that got away, lol.

I should also add that I just bought knamm.com right now. All it takes is one!

I should also add, and I realize the newbies around here have all the answers, but was wondering if you heard two recent apps called knomi and Ibotta. Yes... Knomi makes no sense, but it didn't stop them from that name now did it? I recently purchased knorl and knamm today, and to me, those names aren't much different. So before you just judge a domain off what it sounds like and its' pronunciation, you might want to think a little out of the box before there are no names left. Hope this helps you getting a better understanding of this domain game.

Yes... I bought knomi.org, etc... lol.

Your whoisbin search is showing the wrong reg date, for whatever reason. Go to Verisign dot com, it is the underlying registry for all dot coms. Here is Verisign's reg date for that domain:

Sorry for being slangy; a 'whopper' is slang for a lie. But I can see you confused it for meaning a great domain. It is a great domain, but that wasn't my meaning for the word whopper.

Good grief. Why on earth would I lie.

People lie as easy as candy, to try make it look like they know what they're talking about, like they have more power or experience than they do, and a thousand other reasons. You say you bought the domain from someone in 2010, shortly after he registered it by hand? And yet the domain has never been dropped since being registered in 1995. And the nameservers have never changed since before 2002.

I'm still giving you a chance. :)
Maybe you're giving us the wrong domain name and it's not knorr.com you're talking about, even though you've repeated it many times? Double check.
Because you have never bought or owned knorr.com. Verisign and the domain tools I use to look up a domain's owner history aren't mistaken.

Take care, have fun

Well maybe it was Knor.com. I would feel better if it was. Honestly, I really have no reason to lie about anything. Now that would be weird. I'm assuming it was knor then. Thanks for looking into that. Like I said, I feel a lot better knowing that it must have been Knor. Thank God!

Ya mate. And I had to hear that dumb ass word mate a good half dozen times too through all this. That annoying accent of yours wasn't exactly a plus to all of this, mate.
