I decided to grab this because it seems somewhat brandable down the road.

any thoughts on this or a possible value?

I think you will have problems with it as a brandable due to pronounciation and spelling issues. if i say the word or hear it on an advert, its not clear there is a 'k' at the front (sounds like norl how i say it). if i see it written down there could be confusion over how to say it (is it norl or do you pronounce the k & make it k-norl). for that i would say low $xx for value sorry

Well, my middle name isn't Reg Fee for nothing, lol.

I used to own Knorr.com a couple years ago and let it expire. It's now worth 57k on estibot.

5 letter domains go upto $$$. Even I have one called xalic.com But only right buyer can give you that amount .

Your domain knorr.com has a value of 57k because it belongs to indian soupy noodle brand. That company is huge in India now.

5 digit names will have good value in future because they will be in use in other part of world in countries like India.

Sounds kinda nordic. You may have some joy from foreign buyers. As an english speaker only I don't think it's very good.

I'd keep it, 5-8 letter brandables have potentials, one mans reg fee is anothers jackpot

thats a bit of a back handed swipe mate - i am new to this yes but don't see that it makes my opinion any less valid. i could argue that i find it strange someone who has been doing it since 2006 is still asking other people to value domains for him but i won't.... looks like other people agree with me too - not bad for a newbie eh?

Not necessarily Paul. Since you're very new, I would suggest listening to what 1Nite said, One mans reg fee is anothers jackpot. Of course it's not worth anything now, but we buy these for "the future". You never know when a company will launch, with a new product called knorl, or a restaurant named knorl's, or by an owner with the last name Knorl. You never know, and buying domains is a simple gamble for the future. It may not be worth anything now, but I will wait a couple years. Now, waiting and not buying ANYTHING, will definitely not pay. Wouldn't you agree? I look at it like a $10 bet that a Knorl brand will emerge in a couple years. Hell, it doesn't take an expert to say it's worth reg fees, right now, lol. As I mentioned earlier as an example, I bought knorr.com a few years ago for the hell of it, and now a restaurant emerged with that name, and estibot has it worth 57,000 just 2 years later. Get it? There have also been design companies that have now emerged with that same name and all of the extensions are now gone. Sitting on the sidelines and buying absolutely nothing is not what this is about. I would rather buy yahoo when it traded at a penny on the stock market than to pay $100 a share for it down the road.

So your little backhand is the slap of a child, my friend.

and since you're not very new to this i would find it embarrasing I have to come on here to ask people how much a name might be worth - almost ten years into it and you can't value a name yourself? leave it out. just be honest and admit that you asked for peoples opinions and when mine wasn't what you wanted to hear you had to have a dig back. besides, what exactly was the point on asking for a valuation when you admit above yourself it can't actually be valued yet? the crystal ball is a bit cloudy today so expecting me to look ten years into the future and pluck a value out for you is a little difficult.

nice to see you relying on estibot for prices too - real professional that

I'm not relying on estibot for the appraisal, but suffice it to say, that the name is now worth far beyond the reg fees. If you look at my original post, I clearly asked what it could be worth as a "brandable name down the road". Of course you gave me the expert opinion that's it's worth nothing right now, lol.

I've also admitted that I'm good at grabbing names, but not the best at appraising their "future" value regarding being brandable, and jumping into the brandable name market is a completely different animal for me. I'm no expert and never claimed to be. I just didn't feel like you addressed the original question regarding it being brandable down the road, is all.

Kornl.com is and remains for the future a typo of the trademark "Knorr" the leader food industry!

It hasn't appeal, it is meaningless and unsoundable. Sorry

fair enough - your response to my original appraisal just came across as dis-respectful and patronising which is why I felt I couldn't let it go unremarked. i still think that it has little value though - and that is right now and in the future. its hard to pronounce, doesn't pass the radio test for me and easy to spell wrongly. for a brandable name that really pulls it down. I agree you could get lucky in that someone launches a new company or product with the exact name who will buy it from you for loads but you could say the same for any name

My apologies Paul, and I appreciate the input. Welcome to the forum Bullock, greenhorn. I appreciate your 30 days of experience and giving input. Like I said, I owned Knorr.com before I let it expire about 2 years ago. People on here said it was only worth the reg fee, so I let it go. That was a big mistake.

Okay, it's unanimous, it's currently worth nothing and never will be. It only cost me $10, and seeing that I spent more at Macdonald's yesterday, I think I will hang on to it for a couple years.
