I will reveal the offer I turned down after I receive at least 5 appraisals - that's if anyone is interested of course... - I am just curious to see some expert opinions without influencing them with any amounts.
this is my first appraisal request here and I want to thank everyone in advance for taking their time to express all the opinions and thoughts!

These are some pretty extreme margins of estimate! :tri: I guess it proves what I have always said to anyone looking for an acurate monetary appraisal: "there is no such thing!" - - - It's all up to how desperately the potential buyer needs your domain, and how lucky you get finding that buyer.

IMO, reseller REG FEE,

its really hard to say what an end user would pay.
it truly would depend on how bad that end user wanted the domain.

could go any where from 25 - 100

resale is low $xx. With an EndUser, it really depends on what the guy that owns the .com is willing to sell it at. I think you're looking at 30 - 40% of the .com guy's price

Do you think it's worth developing, being that fuel, gas and energy are very popular issues these days? Or will it take way too much of an effort to popularize a ".net" without a significant return?

I don't have time to appraise this name just yet, but give me till later tonight and I can appraise the name for you in the quality of repour.com's. They take me an hour to do >.<. There are methods to predict how much it can sell for to resellers and ways to guess the range value, but of course there are always the miracles. I just don't count on them happening to often =).

That depends.. if it were me, I'd concentrate on the cutting edge and alternative fuel systems.. but you have a valid point about it being a .net.. traffic will nearly always defer to an active .com.

This isn't a name I'd have picked up in .net (.info or .us, yes).. low to mid xx, undeveloped, end user is anybody's guess... I can't imagine anyone offering much more than mid xxx, if that. (But then, I've no real interest or need for it).

BTW- Google results aren't a concern except for placement.. you should be more concerned with OVT which is a realtively "low" 4800+/month.

Sure. I think FuelSystem is a broad category that can refer to alternative energy and conversions for vehicles (ala propane, natural gas, Willie-Oil (willie nelsons..lol)

So, to sell it for less than $500 - I think would be selling it short. If it was a .com - I think an end user would pay 15k+ -- so I value the .net at $500. It would probably go for more than that if the seller is patient.

The dot COM appears to be a parked page. So, how hott are they ?

I could se giving an appraisal in that rage if the dot COM is an actual website.

and, Since this particular domain is undeveloped.

it is my opinion $50 would have been a fair offer.
