Been about a week since a got into domaining. I'm 21 and studying applied multimedia and telecommunications at a technical univercity. I didn't even know what 'domaining' is some days ago, when I accidentally found this forum. It didn't take but a few hours of looking around to let my thoughts travel ages in the future where I would be what i've always dreamed: travelling around the world with a laptop-combining a job from my study field and get to knowing the world with no more than normal effort. Using my creativity and brainstorm for each and every domain i squeeze my brain about..That's when i registered my first domain rather more by instinct rather by careful search. "Would it be as good as I expect?" "what would the appraisers say?" "how soon before I get my hands into my first $$.." , thoughts like these overwhelmed my mind, minute after minute checking in exact order: my domain's parking stats-the appraisals and back again.Minutes became hours at a glance my watch. I thought it was just my enthusiasm..Next morning I had only one thing in my mind:-you guessed right!-. The scenery didn't change at all,we and my tft at close contact for hours. That's when I realized how addicting domaining could be,at least at first.I thought RPG's and Football Manager were addicting..phew!! How wrong i had been! Anyway enough with the story. Could really domaining earn a living for someone impatient like me? Except that, my recent research makes me think that domaining is a job having an end date. How long before each and every worthy domain is at the hands of the big shots' already at place? Well,i understand that sooner or later we'd all become victims of globalization but we all know that the Web is speeding a lot more and affecting individually all internet-based proficiencies. Probably my travel around the earth in 80 days :) would remain a dream but I hope every domainer has the same opportunities in this field. My next step is light-develop my domains, add them to some directories and s.engines and manually add them some google ads..I don't think my parking company add them at all..and see what happens. You never know.
Sorry for tiring you with my thoughts but I thought you are the ones to share them with! Thank you! :hehe:

you just began... domaining is really addictive and yes you can make a living domaining; i dont make though

you will find out you can earn some money fast and then you will have a small profit (comparing with a long term investment in the industry - here i am talking about buying and selling names) as you can have a better (much better) in a long investment time

besides, and very important, is what you will do with your names and development is the keyword... you give a great value to your name when it "becomes" a website and you also increase your earnings... sometimes i feel sad because i just dont have time to do that (i have to admit... but i am a doctor, so i am really busy and i am learning slowly)

so, go for it, your post is very nice and welcome to this adicting world

best for you,
bricio
