Funny, I haven't regged any .mobi's for a few months now and decided to review some of my lists. Most of the names that I had wrote down have been taken. Anyway, I just regged adul and adlt (.mobi typos of Adult), any thoughts?

We have to remember that cell phones and keyboards are 2 very different things... I would imagine that letters found under the same digit on the keypad will be far more common typos than letter omissions.

I agree, but most cell phones will soon have a keyboard layout, just like my blackberry. Granted it won't be the same as typing on a full size keyboard, but you never know.

Also, I figured a missing letter would be better in the long run?

There will certainly be more devices like your blackberry in the future. However, as many on here have said, there will always be those who want a devices as small as possible. You'll definitely get some typos, but, speaking from experience, I would imagine you'd get at least 5-10 times more if you had nearby letters. I've never typed Namepro instead of Namepros before (although I've heard of many fellow NPers who have).

I don't have a qwerty keyboard phone, but with my fat fingers I can imagine a lot more typos happening than on a regular keyboard, and since retyping is more of a chore on a mobile, I may be more inclined to just follow the links if they are remotely related to what I was searching for.

As for regular cellphone typos - you might find something link advlt, adukt, adtlt occurring, especially with words where consecutive letters fall on the same key, like t and u. It's easier to press the key +/- 1 times than to press a wrong key, I think.

I would think adult to be a good typo example, because it would be pretty easy to serve up other adult content, if that's your thing :red: , to get a high clickthru rate.

Excellent examples. Exactly what I was thinking :) With adult content, they just might bookmark the typo and come back some other time ;)

Yeah, I think most people will use bookmarks much more on cell phones than on the pc. I hardly ever use bookmarks unless it's some weird site or link that i've followed. Of course, I can't say much for surfing the web as I haven't done it very much on my phone yet.

I guess I liked the overture for the word Adult - 1,431,535. I also think that Adult related domains could be huge on cell phones. Consider how many more users there are for cell phones than computers. The overture should be even higher. ADLT could probably stand on its own.

Thanks for the opinions! Anybody else?
