Ok so I check my inbox and seen this today. What are some opinions? And how if they are serious should I go about it? Never sold a domain before. Which would be the best way to receive payment and transfer domain if they are serious.

Or is there common scams like this going around? He left all his contact info and company info at the bottom of the email

Hello!

I'm a representative of an investor from Oslo (Norway). He is interested in buying wifihopper.net.

My client has $462,000 budget for several domains. Please respond and add your price to the subject line.

If you have other domains please let me know. I may help you to find buyers.

How do you want to get paid? Escrow, Wire or Paypal?

Best Regards,

It's an old, old scam targeting the newbies. Same old story.. same old content.. Received this kind of email a dozen times.

I remember i received it one or two years ago on a expiring and not-wanted domain.
I was aware about it, but since the domain was expiring, and i was in a good mood, i told them i would have given it to them FOR FREE. No payment, nothing, just asked for their Name.com account number.
The replies was something like "thank you for your generous offer, but i'm a broker, and if you give it to me for free i don't earn anything. Blablabla go there and get the paid appraisal, and then i will give you $3,000" .
Again, told him "you can decide the price and whatever, i give you the domain for free, you pay for the premium appraisal and tell your boss you acquired it for whatever you want, so you can get your fee and also the money you were spending for this domain".

No response. Pity.

HA! That's too funny! Goes to show how greedy he was in only wanting to scam you, and not wanting to see the true value of what you were trying to offer him! Next time you feel generous, look me up ;)

Offer the domain to him for $50 dollars like I did

I wouldn't even waste my time on him, personally...Unless you want to do some sort of "catching a scammer" video on youtube, and make some money doing it..But then again it's through email, not on the phone..However, If you could get him to call you somehow with the scam, it might be worth it...
Otherwise, I would just ignore him.

That is a completely different scam from the appraisal scam, but very good to know about, none the less. Thanks for sharing that!
Now if we could just get the appraisal scammers behind bars.... :)
