Well my paws.tv was just accepted by greatdomains after submitting it 2 months ago. They placed listed price of 15k on it and a descent reserve price.

So now that I have agreed to their listing terms and am awaiting some legal paperwork do I just continue to sit on it or will they delist it if I continue through with development? If anyone has had experience with them please let me know because I have zero when it comes to using them.

If I am not wrong Adam, you have a committment to sell your name for six months if it meets the reserve price.......I would erase that reserve price from your post....just in case someone is interested ......

As far s Great Domains is concerned, they list quite alot, and sell very few......

I have a couple listed there that I submitted and 1 that I had not submitted but was previously owned, dropped and picked up by me...great domains just leaves names there unless they get an active request after six months to remove the name...they let it gather dust....

As far as developing it, this is a risk you bear...if you have signed..I believe that you are liable to sell the name at the reserve price even if you develop it in the meantime.....

But please confirm this from a seperate source, as I am not 100% certain and wouldnt want you to act upon this...

Best of luck

The paperwork they send you is the contract, not the email. As far as I am concerned, if I haven't signed a legal document, I am not bound by its terms.

I like to think of it this way: What if you said, "Sure, I'll list my name for that much" and then got the contract and realized you would have to have a 6 month commitment with them and didn't like that. Even worse, what if the contract also said you have to give them 10% of all of your domaining profits for the next 2 years. Do you think you'd be legally bound to that contract (that you haven't signed)?

This sounds like common sense to me, but as we all know, laws don't always follow common sense.

Thanks millers, I'll look into it and adjusted previous thread. So if GD is nothing more than a dust catcher should I look into another site that is a little more lucrative and any suggestions as to which one?

Regfee I believe is right, receiving the email and signing the contract are two separate things...I was talking about if you signed the contract.

From what I am told, nothing beats a listing on SEDO, it is up to you if you feel a FEATURED profile will help sell your name...

Bottom line, if a buyer wants that name, and you are on SEDO, they will find you featured or not....and if you list it as a MAKE ME AN OFFER...you are not bound to sell it at any price, leaving you the flexability to develop it at the same time......

Greatdomains has a terrible track record for actually selling names.

look at DN journal on weekly basis and see how many names are sold by Sedo, Afternic vs. Great domains.

It is not even close.
