Hello.
Can you help me approximate selling prices for few domains?

1. deteched.com - tech blog i wanted to develop, but i feel that this market is too saturated, so i will mostly likely sell this domain (if it's worth anything, of course).
2. travelhow.net
3. linux-how-to.com - get's half a million searches according to google's keyword tool
4. futureally.com
5. fundsey.com

Any help is appreciated, i'm just starting with this.

Thanks,
Stephen.

Welcome to the forum!
I'm sure you'll learn a lot here ;)

First of all, read the beginners guides. They're really helpful for starting out. NameNewbie.com - The Beginner's Guide to Making Money With Domain Names - Home is nice info to read.

About your domains, I think deteched.com is pretty nice, first registered in 2000, and 10m alexa, so you'll probably receive a bit of type-in traffic. I'd put the name at around mid$xx.

I don't really like the other ones, but you might be able to flip some for a couple bucks, but don't expect toomuch.

Feel free to pm me if you want to know anything or need some help.

Cheers,
Tim

What about linux-how-to.com? Many people search for that, according to google & overture.

I thought that catchy, brandable domain names can sell for nice amounts, too. I saw some domains unrelated to search engine strings people search for (and they were longer than 4 characters) getting mid $xxx at least at sedo.com.

Thanks for the welcome, Tim, i'm sure i will learn many things here.

By the way, i have found .tv domain for a search string that gets 2 million of searches. Should i register it?

I would use .tv domain just like any other, there probably wouldn't be any video content. All other extensions are already registered.

Sorry I agree with the rest, none of these have any undeveloped value. Keep reading and learning. Best of luck!

I don't see any inherent value in the names themselves $0-reg fee, IMO. However the linux name has potential for development as a mini-site or on a monetization service such as Whypark or Noomle. It should provide steady revenue, then you can sell the site for a multiple of earnings.

Good luck.

Well, i was thinking about developing it, but the market is too saturated. There are too many sites about it, and if i want a share of SEs' traffic, i would need some serious black-hat SEO techniques to make something from it.

Well... if i start working on it, i will most likely keep it for myself and get some cheap content and traffic.

I have put my deteched.com on my todo list. I'm going to develop some plan how to make this site successful in this very saturated market. I'll need to specialize this site into some microniche or something, there are too many technology sites.

I was inspired by labnol, amitbhawani and similar sites. They are far from good, and get decent traffic and money from advertising.

Thanks for your replies, everyone. Next time when i post a thread here, i'll ask you to appraise some domains worth more than a reg fee. :D
