Just read that the domain JumpRope.com was purchased for $200,000.

Sounds like a great deal to me.

Thanks for the tip from Andrew at DomainNameWire.

Awesome name and great sale price!

I would never think the name Jumprope would ever sell for that much.

Paid way to much. .net sold for only $1300. High 4 - Low 5 Figures should have been the sales price IMO.

Nonetheless, congratulations to buyer and seller on deal, and thanks for sharing @Silentptnr.

star*org = $225,000
jumprope*com = $200,000
edit*com = $140,000

I personally would have preferred edit as an asset.

No doubt.
Edit.com is a super domain, undersold in my opinion.

From same source:
"The domain name was previously used for a store that sold jump ropes."
I think this is one of the determinant factors

I agree

Maybe jumprope.com is interesting in the sense of fitness :xf.cool:

Just curious why?
I find Edit.com to be extremely bland as a brand, barely evoking any sentiment for me: curiosity, positivity etc. Editor.com while longer has much more meat on the bones.

Everyone has their own preferences, but it is undeniable that a domain like edit.com has an amazing intrinsic quality.

There are so many amazing undeveloped domains still from this time period.

Edit.com is a nice domain, but jumprope is more brandable

I could handreg SkipRopes*com.

not an equal comparison, but just a point. I could find zero comparisons for star or edit available for hand reg.

who would have thought of that !

Another factor:
jumprope.com was first registered on 1996-02-11
that's 8,067 days or 22years old !

Unbelievable, runner.com was sold for only $69.000... :xf.eek:

there is no comparision with "poor" domain names in this thread :notworthy:

jump rope can't believe it. It will be interesting to see what comes up on the domain.

•••
It redirects to kangarope.com

So it seems a move from an US company to a CA one. Maybe some of you who know both companies can give some light for this huge paid price.
