There has been an update in the Kentucky domain name seizure case and its not a good one. This week the original judge in the matter issued another forfeiture order on 132 domain names, this time not directed just to the registrars but to the registry, Verisign.

just confused though how 1 state can seize domain names that might have illegal content according to this state's laws but is legal in other parts of the world...

Ideally, they don't unless some applicable law or "legal agreement" exists among states. In reality, it depends on who agrees with that court and takes action arising from it.
I admit, though, I am still confused as to how Bodog.com got seized for allegedly violating a state law outside California or Virginia where the .com Registry is located.
