I personally hate subdomains, but I stumbled across JP.com when I was looking at centralnic subdomains.

They are very steeply priced though!

Yes they are expensive but there again you can get generic domains like hotel.jp.com........I think they would do much better to slash the prices to $5.....and go for millions of Japanese regs....after all 1million x $5 is better than
2000 at $100............

being so short, easy to remember, and brandable this makes the domain so expensive.
