$100 would be a good sale for this name in my view, .tv as still as junky as ever. If it was worth 4-5 figures it would have been registered long ago.

haha, network solutions is just being a business. They dont like losing just like you dont like losing. Now, as most of you know, Verisign owns both Great Domains and the .TV corp. Just an added twist to the saga. I'll let the group know of their response when I get it.

You've got to be kidding, right? A sale of only a hundred bucks would be a good deal?? I think you're underestimating the value of this nice premium domain by a long shot. Most three letter domains are a bunch of jumbled up letters that mean absolutely nothing. This is a nice meaningful domain that could be worth easily 4 or 5 figures.

The name fits the extension perfectly and would be ideal for a holiday religion group to build a television show or telethon around. A show called "JOY" would be a great name for the holiday season. The possibilities of such a name are endless and to see you appraise it at $100 is an insult to the name and AmCy.

With regard to this sub discussion re: .tv premium names - I tried to regged a town/city name via enom and it showed as taken. Go to the www.tv site and its available but yeah, you guessed it, $500.

And if you really really, yes really, want a laugh, go try regged help.tv. or funnier still, how about watch.tv

Im still in shock myself... Especially when you see those verisign loonies trying to charge $1m a year for news.tv. And where's the consistency with watch.tv (ok a great name) at $25k a year and joy.tv at $29 a year? i know theres a difference in quality between the names though nowhere near that.

As the thread starter wrote at the outset, this really has been one thats slipped through their net (i guess) so I hope they dont rescind the regged.

And for reference, there is no doubt / debate on the value of this name. imho

Thanks for your comments but everyone is entitled to their opinion. However, having written that, I think the consensus here is that this domain name is clearly worth 100 times more than $100 and perhaps more in the right situation.

Now you ppl have me confused. What consitutes a premium .tv domain? One word? 3 or 4 letter words? I have a small number I might acquire and I'm now uncertain about it all. If I regged a .tv, would I ever really risk losing it? What are the grounds for losing one? Thanks in advace.

For any .tv domain word, it you just check on the .tv corp website, as if you were going to register it there, it will tell you if it is a premium word. For example, someone mentioned on here that News.tv is going for $1,000,000!!!

But, if you regged Joy.tv somewhere else, maybe you were just extremely lucky!! The .tv Corp may have missed "Joy" as a premium word!!! I don´t' think they can change the reg fee on you. Another example, I don't think you could register News.tv somewhere else for $29.99!!! I am pretty sure it would just not show up at another. I could be wrong. Anyway, IMHO.
