I hope it gets renewed because it'd be terrible to spend over half a million dollars on a domain just to have it expire in less than 4 years.

Plus, it's super weird to spend $625,000 on a domain name and fail to renew it for 10 years with an extra $100.

I remebered CM.com, but checking again technically it didn't expire, it was deleted... and then restored.

This domain name was not expired.

Richard confirmed that Namecheap acquired IZ.com for $625,000 and Poke.com for $150,000. Both of these domain names temporarily resolve to “for sale” pages hosted by Namecheap, but the company has plans to use them. Like the Cluster.com acquisition, IZ.com and Poke.com have been acquired as brand assets for future use by Namecheap.
