Wanna buy a .tv name off someone. It couldn't be easier.

Here is your checklist of due diligence that you need to do in order to be certain of what you are getting.

First off check the date that the original owner bought the domain - pre or post March 18th 2010.

If the name was bought pre March 18th:

1. Was it a premium name with premium renewals or was it reg fee?
If it was reg fee, it will continue as reg fee as long as the name doesnt drop.

If the name does drop , it could

1a stay non premium
1b change status from non premium to premium, for example one of my names wreck.tv - non reg fee, now reg one off premium pricing
1c Make you sure you check the premium price at all the registrars. I just checked Enom.TV - $310. Name .com $290.

2. If it was premium renewal:
2a According to some members here, Enom has stated that those premium renewals will continue until the end of time
2b According to Name.Com, if the premium renewal names get dropped they get priced as a one off premium aslong as the name dropped after the 18th March.

If the name was bought after March 18th:

If the name was a one time premium payment, the name should stay at reg fee for as long as it does not drop.

If it does drop, see above 1a,1b,1c

James, can't see how the following (above) can be true. Because if a former premium drops and then gets re-registered then it is then a post-Mar 18th premium. And so unless they go back to saying 'some new regs have premium renewals and some don't', that won't work...

I hear you antonis, but two members stated in another thread that they had a conversation with Deborah from ENom where she stated that pre-March 18th premiums stay as premiums even if dropped after the 18th March.

Read the first two posters in that thread....

Unless I am missing the point ....

In fact it looks like a direct contradiction to the following post in another thread

http://www.namepros.com/647169-has-anyone-tried-re-pre-march-2.html#post3774407

Looks like Deborah is telling one thing to one person and one thing to another....or at least the people shes talking to are misunderstanding what she is telling them .

This just shows how big this mess is...when even registrars dont know what the hell is going on, and .tv investors get seemingly contradictory statements from Enom - the shit is going to hit the fan....

Miller's, sorry for any confusion re my comment in the above thread.

I was confirming that Deb stated in an email to me that those with pre-March 18th premiums would still pay the original premium price upon renewal, I.E. a $1000 premium would still be $1000 to renew...... At no time did she say that dropped premiums would continue to hold their current pre-March 18th purchase and renewal fee.

Thanks Len, I did indeed misunderstand.

So she was confirming that the renewal premium fee continues UNLESS the name gets dropped??.....

Just drop, 95%+ of those names are worthless. If you really need that specific name then could be worth going for it but there is plenty of fish in the sea.

You haven't been here for a few days. I thought you were gone for good. wishful thinking.

keep spreading more of your bs... what gives you the right to tell others their names are worthless? what? based on "your" track record? LOL.

... what gives you the right to tell others their names are worthless?

In my opinion, the vast majority of so-called "Premium" .TV domains are not even worth ONE YEAR of the yearly renewal fees ... and are only "Premium" in their capacity to be labeled such in order to extract premium annuity streams from domainer registrants (for the :$: benefit of Verisign and the participating Registrars). :gl:

Back on topic; I agree, this is confusing as heck (pre-existing Premium .TV pricing class)! :cy: :imho:
All the best,
Jeff B-)

Firstly this is a discussion forum, for guess what: discussion. Now some people don't like being told they've wasted their money, even though blind freddy can see that they have, those people perhaps aren't suited to an open discussion forum?

Secondly, what is my track record? Avoiding these names like the plague for years?

As I said before, I wouldn't follow your lead as a businessman or a domainer.

re: your track record? LOL.

you are condescending...

you enjoy spreading your negativity...

you constantly try to force your valuations down people's throats...

you spend your time "concern trolling" in a forum that you have no vested interest in...

but you are right about one thing, this is a forum, and every forum has its trolls. so you do have a role to play, and imo you are excellent at it.
