It would be cool if there was a bank that you can deposit some NP$ and then earn interest off of it or something where you put some NP$ in the account and then in 6 months the amount you put in will double. Is this possible? :|

Double your money in six MONTHS?!? W :o W
Conceptually, though ... including some of the thoughts from the posted thread by Sohil ... with continued input, I would be supportive of something along these lines (with a reasonable or competitive type of interest rate on one's NP$'s).
One of the origination ideas behind this was to have NP$'s "saved" in a separate area so that one wouldn't spend them ... almost like an IRA or forced-savings plan in real life ... but should we therefore enact a "penalty", too, if withdrawn early? What type of "interest rate" would you consider to be reasonable? This could also be simple interest, or compounded on a daily, weekly, monthly, or quarterly basis ... so it's doable. I'd like to hear more input as to the specifics in order for it to be fairly implemented for the majority, IMHO.
Thanks.

fine 7, 1 month can represent one year in real life, becuase when you get a savings bond it is meant to double in 7 years...

It's possible, but not likely something we will pursue. It's better for the NP$ economy if funds were circulated and used, rather then sitting untouched for long periods of time. Plus, the interest that would be created for essentially being inactive would be unbalancing because the bank gets no benefit from having you deposit your NP$.

Real life banks take deposited money and invest it and loan it to people. We don't get that option though.

If you're interested in earning interest on your NP$, perhaps you'd like to issue loans to other members for a set interest rate.

maybe we could invest there? :)

maybe the stocks depends on how much NP is circulated ;)

example:

the stock price is: 86 np$ per share

if you buy 10 shares it will be 860 np$ in total

if the stock drops like by 6 points and you withdraw and you loose 10 * 6 np$ = 60 np$ as example

also you could add fees like 0.5% ;)

i could easily make it and let RJ integrate it :P

what would the stock price be based on though? and how would you fight inflation of the NP$? Since NP$ has some 'real' value here, it might be a consideration...
