Advertise for NP$; Earn interest with NP$

Ok, I don't have nearly enough to even think about doing this, but I've seen 1 or 2 sites offer advertising spots for their forum's "currency".

So, I would suggest to create a text link section on the home page or something, that someone would be able to post their link for say, 1 month or something for a set amount of NP$. I think a lot of members would be really interested in it.

My second suggestion is to add a feature in the bank where members can "deposit" their NP$ into an "account" and earn interest on that.

Just thought I'd share a couple suggestions....

Look at it from -RJ-'s point of view. Do you want people earning extra NP$ for not doing anything? I wouldn't if I owned the forum. Also, advertising the main stream of income for the site, NP$ are fairly worthless when it comes to -RJ- having to pay the hosting costs etc....

But from the point of view of the members, GREAT.

Yeah, you've got some points there. Of course, for advertising, the text links wouldn't be all that much bandwidth, and set it so that the NP$ goes directly to him - so that RJ could charge a fair amount for what he could exchange the NP for w/ paypal.

... just a thought.

i think colin is saying the the ads help pay for the hosting and then if you start paying np$ for ads, people wont pay $$, they'll buy some np$ and get it cheaper.

I think the advertising for NP $ is a great idea, even if it is just in the footer. It will only help the NP $ economy, and I don't think it would hurt Ron's bottomline, with a text link or two less of advertising. As for the bank idea, it has been discussed numerous times in the past, and the general consensus has been that it would deflate the value of NP $, which I don't think anyone wants.

By allowing people too use namebucks as payment for advertising it should increase the value of the currency as less wuld be around (obviously more is always created by people posting etc)
