I am aware of a lot of debates about whether people in Asia will use .asia extension apart from theirs own country extension ccTLDs.

Here in this thread, we will do voting for this one.

This voting is intended for people from Asia.

It is a bit of a loaded question IMO & really depends on the domain(s).

"No way, I will not use .asia extension. Will ONLY use my country extension."

I think if anyone had Poker.asia, holidays.asia, travel.asia of course they would use it.

Just went to dynadot.com, $12.99 for .asia! The cheapest I know now.
Dynadot control panel is very nice too, so simple and quick.

I may get some more soon... if any good name still left.

If I'm to start a business in my country, it definitely makes much more sense to build your website on the country's TLD rather than .asia. :imho: of course.

I understand about this.

But if you got a very big business which will involve whole asia then you might possibly want to use .asia extension. Aren't you? For me, .asia can make some impression on people.

Say if you live in small asian country, you may be more impressed by a site with web address of .asia . e.g. computers.asia and you might possibly think this company might be so big to involve the whole asia and might be more reliable. It is psychological.

It's also loaded because half the domainers here would have voted No if .com would have been given as an option. Some people live in countries where their cctld costs $100+ / year for regfee. That doesn't mean they're going to use a .asia... They're just not going to use their cctld (and forced in your question to answer Yes).

I would create a site like OrderFlowers.asia etc that is better than just offering it in Australia although there are benefits both ways.

if I really want to develop a website, why shouldn't I use .asia if the domain name is good enough, eg. computer.asia, poker.asia, casino.asia, hotel.asia?

and if I have casino.in and superdamngoodcasino.asia, while I have only enough money to develop one of them, why should I choose the superdamngoodcasino.asia to be developed instead of casino.in?

and like what reece said above, just because someone does not use his country cctld, does not mean he/she will use .asia.

You means depending on the keyword domains. If you got nice keyword .asia domain, you will be willing to use it.

So far out of 33 votes, 23 is willing to use and percentage is around 70%..
