I'm looking at registering a domain name I've found and liked its a LLLLN.it domain that spells a phrase generic but easily brandable for the US/UK Real estate Market.

What intrinsic value do these domains have in comparison to a .com if the full phrase is short neat and relevant?

I'm going to guess 10% to 20% of the .com

The first thing would be to make sure you fulfill the requirements (EU resident). Second, you need to understand the rules and procedures (whatever the ccTLD you are investing in).
If you are looking to resell .it domains you should research how you can transfer ownership of the domain name to another party, if at all possible (I don't know the details personally).

The point is, if you can't resell them, or the reallocation process is very tough/complicated, then the value of .it domains for resale purposes is very relative.

Last but not least, what's the point of using a .it domain for the US/UK market. How often is it actually done ?

Another thing to consider: ccTLDs do best in the search engines in their own regions and probably won't do too well in the US.

sdsinc is correct that ccTLDs have their own rules, and you had better be familiar with them before buying too heavily in them.

Whatever you decide, good luck!
