I have searched for posts regarding Sedo randomly closing accounts and there haven't been any since 2008, so I hope it is ok to post here?
On the 16th of December I setup a Sedo account and bid on a domain. The following day I received an e-mail saying that seller had accepted my bid and to make payment. I paid the required amount and requested an invoice from the seller. They also asked which registrar I would like the domain moved to (I specified Virtualnames - Domain name registration and website hosting) and if I had a transfer agent (I don't). When I got home from work on the 17th of December I tried to login to my account to check on the status of the transfer, but it said that my username and password were not correct. I then tried to retrieve my password and the page said that my account had been closed. I received no e-mail informing me that my account was going to be closed, far less why it was being closed in the middle of a transaction.
I have tried repeatedly to contact them using the support form on the website and e-mail. I also PM'd the Sedo user on this board, however they have not been active in over 3 months.
Today I checked my credit card statement and they have debited the money from the card, so there isn't a problem there. Furthermore the domain is still listed as 'for sale' on the site which seems odd given that I have paid for it.
I'm just wondering if anyone has any tips on what I can do to get in contact with them other than the web contact form or e-mail (which they don't seem to respond to)? Or if there are any hints in what I have done, to suggest why they closed my account? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
