Issue with Template

Hey all,
A friend of mine has created a site using a online template, and has now run into a small issue with some browsers incorrectly rendering it.

The 'About Us' on the right of the page can sometimes be forced downwards, distorting the overall layout.

If anyone can offer any assistance, as she has pumped a few hours into customising this template, and really doesn't want to switch to a different one.

well, its pushed down in IE, so I am guessing its the float/margin bug.

try making the overall width of the main container larger, or take off the margin on the main column/right column.

Validate your xhtml code and your CSS .

This should ALWAYS be your first step in troubleshooting, especially if you are using a doctype of XHTML strict (which you are). XHTML strict tells the browser to expect a well-formed document with correct xml markup - if that's not what you give it you're asking for problems.

For starters:

Is very wrong - http should be name, and in xml you need to end meta tags with />, not just >.

however, in my past experience, it is more than likely a css error, seeing as ff displays it ok, and ie doesnt.

so validate your html/css, then check out the width, as I am 90% sure it is that

I agree with Albino: check the widths. By the way, several elements are given widths in pixels in the html, and then in percentages in the css; they can only have one width, and it should be set in the css.

Why the "About US" text height isn't matching with the other elements. And I think you should align that text in justified manner. You can do this very easily with CSS
