I've never really been to concerned by the traffic coming naturally to any of the names I own.

I always assumed that, except for the odd name, the vast majority of names would hardly register any traffic,

I know others who have .tv names who, in the past, have laughed like mad when they heard others (normally .com orientated buyers) asking 'what are the traffic figures' as though it was an important factor in the buying process.

I remember an interview with Chris Hartnett where he mentioned his massive .tv portfolio (many thousands of names) and stated quite clearly that traffic never fitted into his calculations as it wasn't sufficently interesting to make a difference.

That said, I have recently noticed quite a significant upturn in traffic figures to the point where I have an increasing number of names that actually pay for themselves quite easily.

I also have two names that are crazy with traffic - one having over 3,700 uniques and 700 clicks over the past month while the other has 6,200 uniques and almost 300 clicks.

I spent a little time today looking at some of the names I had at SEDO and was gobsmacked to realise that all my more popular names are increasing in traffic at quite a dramatic rate.

Yes, the vast majority don't look like they will ever pay for themselves, but the traffic is definitely up in my little world.

Can others offer their view? Are you seeing a steady traffic rise or is my experience merely an isolated incident?

Every time my traffic goes up its due to: a TV show in Malaysia, a TV show in Romania, Man United getting knocked out of Europe, a startup in California branding on the non dot TV etc. The traffic then diminishes over time if the Malaysian show moves to the .my, Man United can only get knocked out once, and the California startup goes into a hibernation period.

My crazy spikes have been related to TV Twitter accounts of all things!

I don't have the high quality names of some - but the same ones consistently get viewed daily by one or two curious people, lol. The ones that no one looks at? still no one looks at!

Naturist.TV gets some views :) I guess there's kinky peeps out there.

The important thing for me is that the one .TV that I really care about - people use freely and willingly without question. It really doesn't have a stigma outside of domainers imho. My intention has never been to monetize traffic so I couldn't even tell you the search numbers of many of my names.

Two things for me:

When I switched to Above (using two main parking companies) I saw a very significant increase in traffic. At least this is what the stats reported; I did not believe them to be true (numbers were just too high). The payout was negligible, but at least I obtained one low $x,xxx sale via the system. Once I moved the names back to AFD since I could now use their For Sale link, traffic significantly decreased. However for me there is no comparison to the earnings generated from them vs. other parking companies. Stats reported seem more realistic/trustworthy.

Anyway, I attribute surges in traffic to news stories, newbies and mostly "experienced" .TV speculators.

For my experience the answer is yes.
My best .tv in terms of traffic is at 7K visit in february (just checked).
There is another one that makes 3/4K a month (I mean unique visitors from type in).
All the others doesn't make that much but I the trend is positive and they slowly grow.
