hi all,

is it true that:

if i want to transfer a .com from a GODADDY reseller to GODADDY.com, and i initiate the transfer from my GODADDY account and:

the domain is NOT even close to expiry
the domain was renewed at the reseller but over 60 days ago
no address or other account changes have been made at the reseller account

true that > the reseller CANNOT deny the transfer?

P.S. the domain will be unlocked too. :)

For almost all extensions, what you have said is true ( a few don't allow transfers, such as am/in,etc.) The WWD reseller certainly cannot deny the transfer, so you should contact GD on this issue.

thanks rocket,

the first time i tried - DENIED (no explanation)
figured it was because domain was within 60 days of expiry?
so i renewed (and godaddy refunded my money)

i am going to try again, and this time if denied I WILL PUSH IT.

anything else i should know?

you shouldn't a problem to transfer the domain as you seem to satisfy all criteria to do so. However, godaddy does not accept 2 character domains in transfer at this time. (just for the case that yours is a 2 char)

contact their support department, i've had pretty good experiences with them in the past.

Its kind of funny, but the "reseller" doesnt even get in the process. They dont send an email to the owner of the reseller account, letting him know that a domain is transfering out, so there is nothing to worry about from that end. If they sent you an email stating that it was due to written objection (or something of this nature) it means that when they sent you an email saying that the domain was going to be transfered over, you either responded to the email or clicked a link in that email)... thats the only thing that I can think of... but not enough details in post.... I would recommend contacting the billing department (these are higher up support reps) they should be able to help you. (480-505-8855)

@spade > i just got a FLAT OUT - denied email (from reseller).
TRIED AGAIN. denied again.

got a refund from GoDaddy.

this time, i think i will ask GoDaddy first (via support)
