Established Is this site worth £2500 / $4500 ?

I am not offering this site for sale - but am looking to see what people think it is worth....

I have come across a site which is up for sale the details are as follows:

Cost : £2500 / $4500
Advertsing Commission : £1000 ($1800) per year + income from Google

Unique Visitors: ~ 30,000 per month
Hits: ~ 140,000 per month

Domain name: .co.uk
Current Alexa Rating: 450,000
No. of Links to the site = 1511
Listed in all major search engines

Please tell me what you think this site is worth? Would I be getting a good deal?

Not enough information there, but my gut instint is not to pay 2.5 times the yearly income for a site.

here some more details to go on:

The site in question is a DVD review site
The site currently receives 150 - 200 free DVDs' per year to review (value of approx £1500).

The site has 300+, 850+ news articles

What would the valuation be based on these details, the income and the traffic coming in to the site?

I'd say its worth around $3000 from your description above, but be carefuly with this one as you're going to have to stay on top of the content to keep the site as popular as it is.

Sounds like a good site, 1 or 2 years income is a good selling price.

the owner has informed me of the following:

1) No advertising has been carried out
2) He has not had a lot of time to develop the site

But here's is what I see:

1) a highly developed site with a google page rank of 5
2) a lot of potential to earn new revenue

Though there is a cost of £2500 i think we could be earning this figure back in under a year! Hopefully my bid will be successful!

Has he showed you proof of revenue received?
Gotta be careful these days.. its seems that everysite i see is making money and that simply is not the case.

I would say 3500 US. is more realistic -
PageRank doesnt reflect traffic also.

Thank you all for your views and suggestions. The site has now been purchased by one of my colleagues for an undisclosed fee.

Our deciding factor was the potential the site showed. We as team feel that there is a lot of scope for enhancement and hope to display that in the coming month!
