.tv Is this name worth regging?

Okay folks,

I have a name which is like: xxxxxxx.Tv (7 letters.TV) The name is nice and kind of goes with .tv

Other things, it has poor OVT of around 2k but then google outputs 10,600,000 results for this dictionary word.

Most of the extensions are taken except .ws and .tv and personally I do not like .ws and think thats why it is left. Also it is available in .de, .cn, .jp, .at and .cc but the word may not make sense in those particular langages.

What do you guys think, is it worth regging just based on the facts given.

If I reg it, it will be my second .tv name apart from LiveTheatre.Tv

That's hard to say based on the information provided although the name being gone in other extensions is a positive indicator. Not being reg'd in the foreign extensions has no bearing. Feel free to PM me the name if you like and I'll give you thumbs up or down.

the first question you should ask yourself, is "Does the name work with the .tv extension". You seem to think it does, so that is one positive sign.

Also, are you looking to purchase the name simply to resell, or do you have any development plans for it.

Most members here will say that development is the key to most .tv domains, so if you think you will be able to develope something with the name, then you should definately go ahead and register it.

As for Overture, I wouldn't worry too much about that. There are some high overture ratings such as "student loans" etc that dont really fit at all with the .tv extension, but as you think yours does, then the OVT numbers shouldnt really influence your decision too much.

At the end of the day, if the name does "flop" then you are only losing the standard reg fee - providing this isnt a premiun name.

If you think it is a good name and the extension is suitable, just go for it. You will have one year to think if it worth renewing it or not.
