Hi, ive seen MANY sites that mix adsense codes with content to make visitors accidentally click on the ads. Is this legal? Has google noticed this?

Heres an example:

sneaky_google_adsense_placement_cheat.jpg

Notice that this site offers resources and there are 3 adsense ads between them. I want to know if google allows this because i have to say that visitors click on them accidentally.....

If you think about it, google benefits with the accidental clicks so maybe they look the other way.

To wich point can you force accidental clicks?

Thanks, fuser

And we hear all the time: "blend in the ads". Well it seems they over do it :D

Most of the sites that I have seen using good blending usually go down within a month so be very very careful.

blending ads in not against the TOS, drawing undue attention to ads is. I would have no problems with displaying my ads on that page.

I once visited an arcade site that blended ads extremely well with the rest of the site. There was one section in the top left hand sidebar that looked exactly like a navigation menu. It even had links like "play game". So I clicked on that link and it turned out to be a google ad. Only then did I notice that the menu header stated that the links were "sponsored". A lot of arcade sites also include pictures of mario and other game characters next to ads to fool you into clicking on the ad links. Of course it doesn't always work especially if the link says "health insurance" ;)

WOW, as a webmaster the colours and perfect integration of that site made my heart go pitter-patter! Lovely stuff, that's one talented webmaster.

I can answer this definitively - they DO NOT allow it.

I was using a method similar to the screen shot above about a year back, and Google requested that I stop.

Well if this is against TOS then Google will have to ask like 75% Adsense users to redo their sites or close accounts. people dont click on links or ads without reading what it is. if they do .. well we cant foolproof a website.

Many file uploading sites seem to have the "merge" look, so it ostenisbly is a good way to generate revenue, albeit a real sneaky way

even blogger.com dashboard > settings > templates > blend-in has blend-in template so it's a good adsense technique as well.

Where in Google's TOS does it say this is not acceptable? How much more targeted can you get traffic than through a clicked link with an explanation of the link? I've been using Adsense for a few years on my sites and blending your links into your design and content has always been an acceptable practice and I've reviewed google's TOS on a few occasions and never saw anything wrong with this and they've never issued me any warnings over this practice.

They changed the website.
So I would guess it is against the TOS.
Maybe it violates the rule against competing text ads,
as that is what they look like.
