Hi, this is just my personal tip on getting the most click-through on Google Adsense ads. It's really simple really.

1. On the sidebar, just have Google Adsense ads and nothing else.
2. In the main content, fill it in with just content and nothing else. Real content, dun do ads in-between contents. Too many ads kill the click-through.

That's really all to it!

It depends on the layout of the site and what gets the attention of the visitor.
There have been some eye tracking studies performed which are very interesting to understand the behavior of the visitors eye movement absorbing your content.

Here is another study: http://www.useit.com/alertbox/reading_pattern.html

Interesting food for thought for your content placement as well as your advertisements.

For me, sidebar should on the left. See what all the newspapers websites, they have their sidebar on the left. We are most familiar with sidebar on the left. :hehe:

But i have seen too many sites which keep Google Ads on right side. attention of the visitor depends on what you have on opposite side i think if u have something brighter and moving on other side they would at them.

by the way this should be in Adsense forum in PPC section

Those 2 articles were very interesting. I like the "F pattern" idea. I may try to implement this on some of my sites.

I am an architect, and according to a study that most people who enters a mall or a store goes directly to the right whether intentional or not. That's probably the same thing with other situations.

I totally agree. Scientifically proved the best places for our ads and content.

The info on the upper right corner getting so much attention was a wake-up call for me that I had forgotten. Good point.

I say that because I always used a Click-To-Action info/image on the lower right corner because I was assumed, correctly I thik, that most people scroll the first window down, bringing the mouse to that area. My results were very good indeed. Now I have another area for a Click-To-Action info/image: the upper right corner!

Thanks for sharing, great find!

I would give this a shot if Google hadn't blocked me years ago. In the process I think I sent 10 emails and then they finally said that I was blocked for good and if I ever contacted them again I would be ignored. I tried and I was!

Here is my theory on how to get back in!
