Is this good? $1.50+ rev in 14 days...

Hi there,
I purchased the domain Online-Shopping.us about 2 weeks ago and decided to park it with Voodoo.com, the domain gets little traffic however the visit:click ratio seems good to me.

The domain has made $1.50+ in parking revenue in less than 14 days and I purchased the domain for only $1. If this is consistant, I will earn $26 this year off my $1 investment.

In the parking world, I am a newbie.
Is this any good? If not, how can I improve this to earn max revenue.

I think that is a very very good invest.
Normal you need 1-6 months to earn which you invest.
Now You need only 14 days.
So it very good invest

You are in luck.. if it really earns that much it could be worth $xxx. Most domains get 0 traffic, and if they do get any traffic they don't earn anything. Just to have a domain with any traffic would make it worth $xx. If you collect a year or two of revenue stats that would make it even more valuable. I have no problem registering 100 domains just to find one with some traffic. And out of 20 that do get traffic I would expect at least one to generate some revenue. But if eventually you have a portfolio of 1000+ domains each a revenue generator, consider yourself a millionaire. There are plenty of VCs that would but your entire portfolio like that in a heartbeat. You could even get financing with that type of portfolio. This is why domain name investment is not for the fly by night type of speculator.

It's a harmless domain which pays for its cost and nothing to get excited about unless you manage to find hundreds more like this one.

Even if you use a multiple of 18, its value would be about $55 which is obviously 55 times the price you paid for it but as a one-off investment won't change your life style.

In Domain parking Things change over night.
Few Points to note here are.
1- What Ever you earn from the domain is bonus in itself
2- Imagine if your domain is blocked by Google, You will end up earning very negligible with yahoo or secondary Feeds which do not pay more when compared to google
3 - Important Point: You should know from where the traffic is coming to your domain. Is it direct Type in Type or from any particular Backlink or Backlinks. For Example if you get 100 Visitors for this domain. out of which say 90 visitors are coming from a back link residing on some website/blog/etc. Imagine the Author of the website making change to that page when he observed that the article which is pointing to your domain does not exist now hence the author updated his page with some new domain link which is active. ( YOU HAVE LOST your 90 % of visitors ) with a single change.

So always note:
Do not jump to conclusion. What ever you earn that is a bonus. So always be steady and watchful on how you are progressing.

Quick question, is it ok to build backlinks to a parked domain name? generally speaking ofcourse.

For example Online-Shopping.us, can i establish backlinks in legal SEO ways to get visitors to a parked (undeveloped) domain?

Most parking companies don't allow you to add backlinks after you park the domain. you should check with your parking company first to make sure they allow it. I think Bodis does, but I'm not sure about others.

I've checked backlinks and it has only 2 referral domains and 3 backlinks. I do not think it is a typein domain because of the .us.
I'm agree with zaki.ahmed. It's easy that the owner of the referral domain deletes the link and.. game over.

I think revenue from domain parking is very unreliable and unpredictable. For example when I first started parking all my domains with Voodoo one of them made $8.70 in one week. One click was worth between $1.50 - $1.80. Then something changed suddenly and it didn't get anything since then..

if, the traffic continues, grows or dies

if, the earnings remain consistent, increase or die

if, someone makes you an offer based on this post.


if, you want to improve on it, then you'll have to develop some webpages.

parked domains may have some rank in the se's, but rarely will such pages rise in ranking among comparable terms.



some .us names do get type-in traffic, however IF, your domain is "link" dependent and not
a true type-in, then another webmaster holds the key to your prosperity on this one.

2. Any TLD other than .com practically gets zero direct traffic, regardless unless you have sex.org or something which too would be less than 1/100th of .com

3. You don't have nor will ever have direct traffic for that domain.

4. Backlink traffic for parked domains is temporary.

5. It is better to get 150 clicks of $0.01 each rather than 1 click of $1.5. A single click is a fluke. But if your ads got clicked 150 times in 14 days then chances are there may be more people in the future assuming it is type in traffic.

6. Honestly, that domain isn't even worth $1. You are lucky you got your investment back.

What I can say for a fact, off my historical data. You're traffic will be dumped on on the 2nd month, expect a 30% drop if its an expired site. Then slowly it will decline and eventually stabilize if you are lucky to around a 5% decrease a month to no decrease.

Long term probably around 50% or lower of what you make your first weeks.

You can get direct traffic to any domain name. Lease a billboard with your domain name on it or just pass out business cards with your domain name printed there. So direct traffic is more than just keywords.
