Have you heard. Apple will no longer accept cash for Iphone purchases. Only credit cards. They say it is to prevent people from buying them to resell.

Is this even right. I think it is descriminatory (sp) to people who cannot get a credit card.

Yes I think so. Too hassle for those who doesn't have a CC but has a money to purchase one. Has to still ask someone for them to lend you their card...

Assuming you can purchase that kind of a phone, then you need to have credit cards.

The thing is you need a credit card to pay for service for the phone. If and only if you don't pass the credit check (or fake not passing the credit check by entering 9's as your SSN) then you may use the iPhone with prepaid service. So It's really not a bad idea as the average person wanting an iPhone isn't going to know that you are able to use that "hole" to get prepaid.

BS thats what I think! It seems more and more today cash is becoming extinct and we are relying on E-funds and credit. Yes I do believe this is descrimination for any one with out a card or any one looking to buy one as a gift. Its just another form of control and observation!!! :td:

Apple has been really acting it up lately. First the iPhone 'brick' thing was just plain arrogant, even though they had the right to do so. Now this CC thing. Wtf? I LIKE to use cash. With my CC, I can't even keep a track of my spending habits. Its my choice what I pay with; cash came before cards, not the other way around.

I think someone might actually file a case (can they?) against apple for infringement of a person's rights. I don't believe a merchant has a right to dictate that it'll accept only CCs.

Bloody Apple...acting elitist and obnoxious. Even MS seems much better today compared to them.

Yes I do believe you need a card to activate the phone, but what if your buying the phone for some one else or buy it now and plan on turning it on later. I think if any thing this just hurts apples sales!

Its not even about the sales anymore. Its about a seller of a niche, much wanted product dictating the terms of sale to its customers. Its basically about your rights as a consumer being taken away from you. And THAT is wrong.

Screw Apple...I was thinking of switching to AT&T and get the iPhone, but such an attitude...I'll get a Blackberry instead.
