Is this a good plan?

I have been buying names for about 2 years. Like many newbies I bought a bunch of names that I thought sounded cool. I have since let most of them drop. I can say that I have only bought .com I have never bought any other extensions.

Here is my new idea, only buy .com's that get searched 10,000 or more according to Google's keyword tool.

Any flaws in that idea?

Develop or sell. From what I read parking is not a good option.

That alone doesn't mean much. You have to consider how profitable the niche is. If your intent is to resell it does not mean there are a lot of end users either.
Probably best to concentrate on the niches you are most familiar with, so you can develop the domains if they won't sell (most likely they won't).

So you are saying 10,000 or 20,000 searches a month would not interest a potential buyer?

Just to add :

The number of search must have commercial value if you intended to resell it.

For an example :
Sigma1020mm.com have 40k search according to Estibot and valued at 11k, does this mean there is a standing queue to get it..... at least 1/10 of the said value. The answer would be no even for a fraction of 1/100.

Read again and try to digest what have been said by sdsnic earlier.

Just in my own experience I have tried this. The only ones you'll find available are generally 3 or 4 worders. I grabbed a few of the higher paying keyword ones, parked them, and then watched as they got 0 traffic and let them drop.

Thats just me though!

You just have to develop your domains one at a time so that it can generate traffic. Once a good traffic is produced, slap some adsense or similar ads to make small amount of money. Maybe you can make enough revenue to renew that particular domain for next year. Furthermore, Keep the websites that generate revenue and flip the websites that don't convert.

Good Luck
