I have been in to domaining for last 4 months. I have collected a few. I am buying domains only to sell them later.
Here are some:
eminentarticles dot com ....(my 1st purchase)
rylif dot com
Qik9 dot com
1kik dot com .....................(went for these coz they were short domains )
24x7doctor dot com ..........(thought of specific use)
frontbuy dot com ...............(thought of strong keyword)
lastsem dot com ................(somebody has dot net of this)
wondersful dot com........... (I would have loved it without s)
lifelovers dot org ................(life-lovers dot org is active site by somebody)
timepass dot cool ...............(strong keyword for Indians)
credibilities dot com.............(one word dictionary)
entireinfo dot com................(word info in domain- it sucks to get it there)
pornvdos dot com................(thought it would appeal to some porn site builder)
govariety dot com.................(most precious that I think I have)
Some of these may be worth reg fee. I am learning that some of these I should not have bought.
But that's how we learn it.

It appears you have learned to focus on shorter .COM domains but need a little work on keyword selection. What business can be operated on a particular domain and why would they choose that one over hundreds of other possible options with that keyword? Hint: is there meaningful search volume for that phrase (i.e. Google Keyword Planner) or does that exact phrase in quotes (i.e. "miami+real+estate") have hundreds of thousands of search results in Google. Yes, sometimes brandable domains (Yahoo, Google, Facebook, Twitter) can sell for big bucks but be cautious when trying to create brandables.

We are already very late in to the domain market after 20 yrs it took off. Almost all good keywords are gone for primary registration. Beginners also can not afford to buy domains from aftermarket and predict their real value.
What we try to find out are not high quality domains but some which are remaining behind or dropped because we think they may be worth in future.

Hey, i'm no expert as i'm still a newbie after 2 years of domaining but i will say, stick with the meaning words such as credibilities ... trying to mix up words or drop letters from words is not good, as already said you seem to have the fundamentals... short domains but numbers and letters are not so good.

Just my 10 cents worth.

All the best of luck in your domaining legacy

The ones that I like are: lastsem.com and credibilities.com. The others are reg fee to me.

I like lastsem.com because:

a. It suggests improvement (e.g. I'll be better than I was last sem). This could be used by tutoring companies, centers, and even by review centers;

b. It's a seven-character domain and;

c. It suggests that it's better to move on than cling on to the past (kinda emotional but yeah).

For credibilities.com, it's self-explanatory. Who doesn't want credibility? :)

Personally, they're all worthless to me. But you are right: ya gotta learn somehow. I've said it a billion times: I've lost a lotta cash before I ever turned a profit. You learn. Is this a good start? No, but it's not a terrible one. I've known of ppl blowing a few thousand at the beginning, losing every single penny of the investment. You have a bad portfolio, honestly, but you coulda gotten even worse. You might not profit from these. Still, your losses shouldn't be terrible. You'll learn--read these forums heavily & you'll be on the right track!

Sometimes it becomes difficult to control own nerves. Its just like gambling. As we witness some successful sales, we also desire to have similar 1000% to 10000% returns. This is the point where we get in trap and sacrifice our investment. Buying available domain is simple but bringing out a sale is an art.
I am really grateful for all advice I received.
One important that I felt important was: better to stick on to the basics i.e. keywords. Though they are difficult to pin, they are considered to reliable assets.
Let's see how it turns.....
One thing for sure....
Its exciting!

I thought I was the only one. Thing is that not every good dictionary word is good in plural. Can't remember the last time (if ever) I've heard credibilities in plural. Even right now, typing it, the autocorrect underlines the word as grammatically wrong.

An even worse example of that is wonderSful...completely meaningless. But as the others said its a good start because you didn't jump into handregging hundreds of domains and you still have a couple that are worthwhile. With time and experience you will only get better :)

Everything depends on the term.Sometimes, singular is better, others plural. But if you could get both, it'd be obviously better

Sometimes, It really depends on common sense.
Shoes.com / Clothes.com / Teeth.com are more desirable than Shoe.com / Cloth.com / Tooth.com etc.
Timepass dot com (dot cool isn't) would have been great but majority of us Indians rarely spend a dime on buying domains or anything they consider worthless. As an example, Restoration/Auction Houses are a huge business in US, whereas in India you wouldn't find any such business because most Indians like to buy everything new.

I honestly see no value on the domains you have registered. Based on what you have said, my opinion is that you should, for now, forget about the 1000% reture and concentrate on learning what sells and what doesn't.

I would also like to challenge the notion that we are too late to the domain industry. Yes, it is true you cannot go and register car.com, however, good domain names drop everyday. Learn what is dropping and how you can hold of them.

You're looking for a home run, but your swinging blind..

Your names are worthless undeveloped. What is a " Go Variety"? What is a 'credibilities' website? It has less than 50 000 google returns.

Lastsem? Lifelovers is good, but only if it is developed.

You are correct. But the names do have potential that can not be denied.
GoVariety clearly indicates variety that you have. Now a days for any showpiece/ garments/ designing industry, variety is equally important as quality.
'Credibilities' is a long dictionary word I admit but it can be a website for official information regarding track records and assets of Individuals/ companies/ business units etc. (eg www dot credibility dot com). Secondly it sounds official when you have a proper dictionary word in your title.
I have gathered few more. As like your your advice, I am focusing on some niche like 3Dprinting.

3Dwonder.com
printing3D.in
