Is there any way to view domain age, times reg'd etc?

I think Domain Tools might offer a service like this but there is no point in me paying for a subscription as I will only be doing one or two searches here and there.

Is there a free service that shows:

- when the domain name was originally registered for the first time ever?

- how many registrants there has ever been?

- etc

i know many are facinated by a domains age and like to know who used to own it, when it was created, etc, etc.


but i've never found that info to be relevant for any purchases or sales i've made.


still, one free source to use could be "web.archive.org".

you could see if there was a previous website on the domain and when it first hit the net.

other info may be available from those screenshots, like email address of former owner, etc.
