Hello all,

I own .COM, NET, ORG, INFO and BIZ for several domain names. I think that I should let one of them go (INFO or BIZ). I dont know if there is any value in biz domain name. If you compare biz and info, which one is better?

Thanks

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
I think it depends on the purpose of the domain or the intended use. I mean if you running a fansite called errm.. ElvisFans.com then the .info would be a good backup, however .biz doesn't really go well with that, if you see what I mean.

Also, if you have say for example 247Electricals.com, then the biz may also complement that (especially if its a business/shop) whereas the .info isn't as good in this example.

Personally I like the .info and own quite a few. I don't own any .biz at all, and don't feel theres a need for me to at this stage anyway. If I'm registering a dot com for a project or idea or business - then I tend to also register .net - .org - .info and sometimes my country tld .co.uk --- however I only do this for major projects or businesses I start.

Anyway, thats my 0.0002$

from my expierence, .biz is much harder to sale if you need to sale.I guess .biz got a bad rap in the industry,i dunno.I think it's purpose was really never recoginized by ecommerce and others. In my opinion,Yes .biz does carry value.Right now at this moment .info carries more value.Who knows the future of either TLD though.

.biz has never really been accepted and even premium keywords and 3 letter .biz domains are going cheap.

Well I think you shouldn't really make comparisons between .biz and .info. Both extensions have their own purposes so the selection of either of the two extensions will entirely depend on the name and purpose.

domain names sold in 2005 sorted by extensions (TLD and ccTLD)

The difference isn't that big, so based on this only, I would say that .info is slightly better than .biz

I personally also like .info or .biz by the way.. :)

.biz are tough to sell. I believe the market for .info domains exceeds that of .biz. However, if you have a .biz extention as well as other extensions for the same domain, I would keep the .biz domain. If you only have .biz by itself and it isn't a very generic name, try to get rid of it at auction (either here or ebay) for at least a few pennies...
