Is there a valuation method that the domain industry uses that's based in whole or in part on a company's annual sales and/or projected annual sales?

If not, I guess I'll just fly by the seat of my pants. There won't be any comps for this one!

Thanks for any advice. I'm getting ready for takeoff.

There's no set standard.

Obviously Oscar Meyer is going to pay more for a HotDogs.com than Joe's Hot Dogs Stand is, though.

I'm not too expeerienced yet with domain sales, but I did take an unsolicited offer of $450 for a domain and was able to get $1,000 for it. I only paid $5 for the domain, so I was quite happy. To be honest, I was thrilled when I got the offer for $450, but when I looked at the PR and links to the domain, and what the other TLDs were being offered for, I thought maybe I could do a little better, even though it was a .org domain.

I'm still happy with the sale, but I later found out (sale was through a broker) the customer was a huge telecommuncations company in Europe. Huge.

The lesson for me: Just do the best you can and don't make a deal you are not happy with, but keep your expectations reasonable so you don't lose sales.
