I'm quite a newbie for domain selling. I sell and park my domains on SEDO.
There is a 'Free Price Suggestion' program on SEDO. Is the suggested price by it valuable, or near the domain's sale price? I've a domain SEDO-priced on $5000+, if the it's near its true value, that will tremendously encourge me. Thanks so much if anyone could give me some comments.

Like an automated appraisal, it's more of a 'guess'.
You should never purchase domains based on that kind of 'guesstimate'.
Besides, an appraisal is just a theoretical value, even when it's realistic...
Appraisals mean nothing if there are no buyers.

I would ignore the auto-valuation completely. Instead, analyze the market, look at what actually sells.

I agree with sdsinc. They are using an algorithm of some sort, but it really may not be predictive of your name's value. The best way to get a sense of value is to go through lots of data about what has previously sold that is similar to your name. The appraisal section here is good too, but make sure you "listen" particularly to the vets who have been around a while and explain why they think what they think.

there is "value", in that you could compare what price they quote, vs what price you had in mind.

however, in the majority of cases, that tool will quote a price lower than your expectations.

it's in their interest for prices to be low to entice buyers

imo...

Check this appraisal service out. By doing so you can see how
"parameters" or metrics can influence a names value. This is
the SEDO free version.

When you input information as you process the appraisal you
can began to see how varied the result will be. Those variable
are near endless. So many variables that there is no "true"
appraisal answer.

No affiliation but rather a good learning tool for those newbies
wanting to better understand auto appraisals.

Thanks so much for all above replies. These helps me. I still need to learn a bit more about domain trade, although the domain names I applied most can be developed into real websites, I'm a software engineer.

Thanks again!
