So, I acquired a domain name and would like to put it up for auction at Flippa. Except it's already listed there. I guess in perfect world, the fact that I can verify ownership of the domain would give me the right to put it up for auction there, you know, with me being the owner of it and everything. But we're not talking about a perfect world here. We're talking about Flippa's world.

I contacted them two days ago to ask them to remove the listing, so I can list it. And I still haven't heard back from them.

#1. I shouldn't have to contact them just to get them to make their site function the way it's supposed to function.
#2. It shouldn't take them 2+ days to get back to me to deal with an oversight by one of their bonehead (so-called) programmers.

Flippa, why don't you fix this problem? Better yet, maybe we can make a list of all the things about your selling platform that need fixing.

I understand your frustration, and I ironically just got done speaking with our Product Manager regarding this very issue, before I even spotted your post.

First, our CS team shouldn't take two days to get back to you. Mind giving me the Ticket # so I can chase that one down?

Second, our programmers aren't boneheads; but at moment, we view manual verification as more of a security check, which is subject to change at some point -- just not at this time.

Were someone to respond as timely as they should have, your issue would have been sorted before you felt the need to post this. So I want you to know that that's an abnormally slow response time, and that I'll be happy to look into why that happened; but that said, the method for verifying that you're the new owner will remain manual for security purposes.

Feel free to list further grievances here or anywhere else. We're improving a whole slew of things in the coming weeks and will continue to do so. We're listening. Thanks @greggb

I've been having trouble getting a few domains verified too, but they are my first ones with Flippa so I thought maybe I was the one doing something wrong.

Stolen domains used to be listed on Flippa and they revamped up everything to stop that. It's good that they take their time to verify domain ownership.

I applaud flippa for constantly trying to make their marketplace as secure as they possibly can. Today, like many of you, I received an email indicating a new verification process required for those who wish to bid over $5000. I think it's fantastic this came to fruition. It was actually a recommendation I made a couple of months ago along with some others which I am told will be launched in the near future. Good job Kevin and flippa!!!!

I've been waiting 2 days for a response for a ticket i opened on Tuesday. Corrected as it was actually only 2 days based on the auto reply.

With my experience, I have found Flippa staff to be very helpful and nothing short of superb.

People need to invest in patience before ranting.
