Is SquareSpace good to build a website on?

A friend of mine is leaning towards using squarespace.com for her fashion/models magazine. She is new to the whole website stuff so she feels their platform would be best for her and they provide support.

I personally like wordpress and am willing to help her...

Do you guys recommend squarespace or should i direct her to wordpress.?

For magazine type site? I recommend WordPress! There are thousands for WordPres tutorials online.

It depends largely on her skill level. If she is comfortable with WordPress (or you are) then I would recommend WordPress. However, you don't want to end up with your typical WordPress website. If you both have very little experience with designing for WordPress I would suggest using a website builder such as SquareSpace, Weebly, Wix etc. They will allow you to create a half-decent looking website without the need to further your web development knowledge.
