Is SEO Dead? There have been rumours around the internet that it is and that Google & Other Search Engines look for unique content not keywords and meta now?...

Content is essential but SEO is the thing that puts the content in front on Search engines in a manner that can benefit search engines as well as sites. [Alas this is not the case in most of the scenario's] People only want their site to benefit :D

I don't think that these rumors are really true. Together with unique content keywords, backlinks continue to have a high value among search engines.

No its not dead, seo need good keywords and phrases. Meta tags are very important factor for seo.

algorithms get updated constantly already, but seo is still alive... can you explain this? :blink:

There's always modifications and changes in any internet area and SEO is no different. However it will still be around for a long time to come yet.

I guess you are making a mistake. SEO means Search Engine Optimization. So, no matter how method the engines uses for decide the rank of each site, there will be a need for optimizing the site trying to be on the first ranks.

BTW, the rumors you heard are wrong. Personally i preffer that engines choose the content and not the anchor text, but Google dont listen to me and they continue using the anchor text.

Understand that by SEO we mean any change to a website made by someone looking to get better ranking on search engines. Do you think people wil stop trying to rank well????

Even in the remote case that content get the unique way to rank, then people will SEO the content (this means: change or optimize the content).

I guess many people have a wrong idea about what SEO really means.

I agree with you.

Now a days google will not consider keywords tag because most of people do keyword stuffing there without any meaning.

But other search engine's bot can consider about your keywords.

SEO is still relevant and being one of SERP factors. Can't deny it's importance.
