How many title tag, meta tags can be given for single webpage.?

How many title tag, meta description and meta keywords can i give for a webpage. Will this helps in SEO and ranking my site.

I had visited a site last week and found that the site has 2 title tag, 2 meta keywords, 2 meta description in it.

Which one will be fetched and indexed in search engines.

That's a very good question and I am not sure. Technically, in coding, the lower set of meta information should be taken by the search engine, however, it all depends on how the bot is set up to scan the site.

Having two sets of meta tags on a single page is bad practice and you should stick to one either way. It's worth noting the meta information provides very little benefit for SEO these days, tags are mostly only applicable for smaller search engines which will generate a tiny percentage of your traffic, whilst the meta page info tag is useful for increasing conversion to your site through search, rather than being specifically important for the ranking itself.

Of course, having a higher click-thru rate on Google may well help your rankings, but that is a topic that is debatable.

Generally for a single webpage only 1 title, meta, description tag needs to be there. It is basicaly for search engines to crawl the website much better.

Yes, i have removed the 2nd meta tags which i implemented in my site.

Google has crawled my site with the new title tag and meta description.

As per my view we can provide the number of meta tags as per their requirements for the webpage. But title tag must be only one for the single webpage.

In title, I know it is better to have a clear and concise statement. When it comes in description 155 characters are the most recommended.
