This is kind of long and I'm pissed. Name.com is the losing registrar and the gaining registrar is a company in the UK. I've authorized the request to the UK company and then nothing happens. I've been calling name.com all week to push the transfer request through but they aren't receiving the request. All week I've called and each employee agreed it was a non-premium, perhaps based on the price I paid and the regular renewal rate.

Today I call to get to the bottom of this once and for all and he says his domains manager says it is, in fact, a premium, the original purchase price was $529 but no one knows how to differentiate a premium .tv from a non-premium, so they must find out from the .tv registrar.

I'm not the original buyer so I wouldn't have known about the original price and status history. I've resold it to a new buyer who has already paid $7,000 to escrow.com through a brokered deal.

At the time of purchase, I bought 5 other "super" domains for the same price, similar to the one that has sold. I feel name.com could change the rules mid-flight but if there is something I could have done to avoid another expensive mistake that a registrar would omit, I'd like to know.

Forgive me for my ignorance, but if the domain was an upfront price of $529, the domain name HAS to stay at the initial registrar, in this case Name.com. To solve the issue, have the buyer create a free account at Name.com and push the name to the account. Release funds via Escrow.com.

Best,
A
