Is my site too odd?

Hello there,

I've just created my first attempt at a CSS/image based website (www.timetomb.com). I've only just taught myself some of this CSS and photoshop stuff.

Does the site load and appear alright to other users?
Is it too different from the usual CSS style layout?
Does it make any sense?
Are there any other problems?

fast loading site, not very dramatic when it's opened up using firefox, my guess is that the background were not supposed to move with the text, am I right? is it a pixel ads but combined with a unique idea of having your own pix space in a tomb?

Pixel ads? Hmm. I suppose all selling of online space will now be called pixel ads! I wasn't trying to copy anyone. The site is not supposed to be for adverts, but for memories (people, cats etc?), art, celebrations (e.g. births). A place where people can put small pictures/text and point relatives/friends to. All set in a virtual land, just to be different.

Anyway, I had fun making it!

Same here, I would suggest Removing the Background pic and replacing it with another one..One that isn't so depressing

i think it's intended to be so depressing after all the creator want you to believe that you're inside a virtual tomb that's all . i guess he's successful in convincing us that with the current design.

i like the design actually it's well fitted with the domain and the intentions of it. it's great and it's odd

Maybe I should have chosen a different domain name. The rest of the site isn't so gloomy. Initially I really intended to create vaults (underground/gothic) but decided on a whole world, which hopefully allows for humour as well (it depends on the users, if I ever get any).

I should probably have created a meaningless word for the domain. One advantage to being odd/different is being remembered I suppose!
