Hi Pros,

I want to know if it's worth it to register in Afternic.com

I only have one domain, however I'm planning to invest in these Buy & Sell domain thing.

My plan is to have my first domain sold for a good price, before I go crazy and buy all the goods names that I have listed.

Anyway, my first hand picked domain was Teebargains.com

Great commercial value I think, cause Tee Shirts are mostly sold on bulks. But Tee is not widely known word yet.

Anyway, Please give me some insightful advice. Thanks!

I dont know if I would sell it on Afternic?

Sedo is good to list in eyes but the choice is yours what price do you hope to achieve for the domain?

Regards,

Robbie

Decent name. First thing I would do is always list it in writing as ..TeeBargains.com

Makes it easier to read and looks more valuable. Next, I would park it. I have a few "Tee" domains and they do very well generating more than enough revenue to pay their registration. Then list it on Sedo as well as any other site that would allow you to. Why not place it in the NamePros auction? What kind of $ expectation do you have? That may stop this conversation right in it tracks if you have too high a price on it!

From my experience it's not worth the $20/yr fee to list your domains on Afternic, there are many other venues. Again it's just my experience, & the domains you list (& their prices) play a huge part in if you get any offers.

Hi Pros,

I totally don't have any idea on the pricing terms. I'm still trying to appraise this name.

I plan to park this domain, but the problem is I need to have at least 10 domains to park at Parked.com. And I heard a lot of negative feedback on other domain parking services unlike Parked.

I also registered in Sedo, but the Terms & Agreements states that I need to have a business area in United States. I'm afraid they might reject me.

I have already signed the Certification, I'm waiting for their approval.

More question: BuyDomains seems to be the leading Premium Domain seller in this arena. When I signed up for Afternic, will my domain name be listed on BuyDomains as well?

Thanks for helpful advice! Happy hunting guys! Hope we get those 3 letters domain cheaply!! It seems like the 3 letters name are the diamonds in this domain world.

In my opinion, it's not worth using Afternic. You pay $20 a year to list your domains for sale, if a non-member wants to buy your domain, he will have to pay $1 to join, which just deters potential buyers.

Sedo, IMHO, is the best place to start, it's free to list, and you have more exposure to buyers than afternic. Sedo also has a great and dummy free parking program, and they are extensively adding more stats and cosoles to make your domaining life easier!.

With Buydomains, I think they only accept premium domains.

Hi Pros,

How can I park my domain using Sedo? Registrar is Namecheap.com

There's no name server option there, I can try URL forwarding but it seems that its not working..

As long as you only have one domain in your portfolio I would definately not list it at Afternic. It is not worth the reg fee and Afternic is not the most efficient way to sell domains anyway. I am yet to receive my first offer through Afternic, most of my offers come directly from people visiting my parked sites.

i think you need to have lots of domains to maximize the advantage of afternic, if only a few, you can sell it here, or sell it elsewhere for free.

All:

Pete Lamson here, I am the GM of BuyDomains & Afternic.

Regarding listing names on Afternic & BuyDomains, all sellers can in fact sell names through both sales platforms as well as through our DLS (domain listing service) Network of Resellers.

Simply list your name on Afternic and select the "Expanded Promotion" option.

Doing so lists you name on Afternic, BuyDomains and our extensive Distribution Network. You will also be assigned a dedicated BuyDomains Sales Executive to work with you to maximize your revenue, assist with pricing, offer/counter offer, etc. Expanded Promotion offers the broadest exposure to buyers of any domain sales platform on the Internet.

Revenue Share Information (in addition to $20 annual membership fee)

Afternic Basic Promotion: 10% Revenue Share due at sale completion
Afternic Expanded Promotion: 20% Revenue Share due at sale completion

With respect to how effective Afternic is at selling names, I suggest you review any of the weekly sales reports at the DN Journal for a comparative tabulation on domain sales totals - you will see that week in and week out, Afternic sells more names that any other venue.

Thanks and Good Selling!

Pete

you can easly put this up for sale and not sell it for 2,3, years or not at all

do you want to wait years before you move on to your next name.

You would be better off buying two more names then giving afternic $20, sure they sell names but odds are they wont sell your name during the year and you need $30 back just to get even. Really only get quick sales if you slash prices, and $30 might be tops quick sale price on this name
