    Ok
Guys today I saw that orlandoparks.com
    Sold way back for 4000$+,
I thought this should be only for governmental purpose, since it can't be owned privately

What Do the Pros have to say on this

Also if anyone has successfully sold a city+parks/domain
You can share your experience too.
    And details like:
    Inbound or outbound
    Hold time
    Any legal issues
    Buyer(governmental body or private body)

Don't waste your money on this concept. Some cities use a .Net or .Org or .gov domain but any park into would be on their website. Why would they buy another domain just to provide info on local parks? They could also create a Facebbok page or YouTube channel with content related to city parks. Who else other than the city government would even care? With no real end user, a portfolio of city + park domains would lose money.

OrlandoParks would be popular because of all the theme Parks in Orlando, Florida. Disney etc . This has nothing to do with general municipal parks run by local authorities and likewise the domain sale is not related to Town or City parks.

You've misinterpreted the nature of the original sale

You may just give it a try. Can be used as directory for all the parks in the city

    CPC is about 5$
Would it be good for parking?

Or what do I need to check before parking a domain name

I think in most cases city+parks will be tough to sell. Probably a well developed site could earn a little. The .org if available is definite competition.

City + parks as well as theme parks as @BaileyUK correctly points out as reason for value of that name, could perhaps be used for a reference on parking rules, lots and services in a city.

Ps here is list of sales ending in parks, which include state and a few city sales

Parks are already listed in most search engines, trip/travel sites or booking sites, gps software, etc.

Just google your city plus parks and see.

From past sales I see state+parks sells better ...maybe I will just buy and park it..
Since it gets 1.9k search I think I might and generate some money from it,
The money generated determines it's renewal ..

I just took a list of the 300 largest cities in the USA and added "parks" to their name. 143 are still available.
Of the remaining that were taken, I picked 20 well known cities that would likely have parks. All of them were for sale or did not resolve to anything.

    Just FYI....

I think it's not too good, but with the right combination of "city" and parks, you can have $x.xxx, maybe. But not preferable.

Just as with governments and country names, people need to stop thinking that authorities own the rights to the name of the town they govern. Otherwise by virtue of the fact that everyone's starting to believe it, they just might.

Do you suggest I drop it, since 143 is available,
It means the gems in them are long gone..
Then i move ahead to find a better name..

Nobody can really tell what one domain name will do. If you look at the thread "recent sales" here, some of them make no sense, but they sold. Your one name might sell. But domaining is a percentages game. Evaluate it and decide what to do next. For me, even if I could buy all 143 for $1 each, I would probably find other domains to spend the $143 on.
