discuss Is "ioe" not a sellable term?

I've have a couple "ioe" domains in my stable lately. Burning a home in my pocket in renewals.

I don't see much sales in this term.

IOE (Internet of Everything).

The only sales I see are for LLLL.com or maybe LLLLL.com sets. Even then it's just one to two pages total sales on NB.

IOE is a term coined by Cisco.

But IOT is killing it more in sales than IOE.

Can someone she'd some light?

I use to see a ton of ioe+keyword.com
And
Keyword+ioe.com

Registered a while back. Now most are available.

That means they went to expired auction(maybe) and no one bid so it deleted plus no one backordered it.

So is IOE not a profitable term anymore.

IOE can stand for other things like

Institute of education
Internet of energy
International organization of engineers
Intra-Operative Endoscopy

And other things.

So why don't I see more sales of IOE domains?

Especially when Cisco says this IOE is going to be a "Trillion dollar industry"?

I'm poised to do a transfer order for some IOE domains so some insight would be appreciated.
Obviously, instincts say if hardly any sales then dump it.

No! What sort of a domain would an org really use? SmartIOE.com? Or Smart.com or Smarty.com or a decent brandable variant. IOE, beyond it meaning almost nothing to a consumer, is difficult to pronounce and will always have to be spelled out! Additionally, when written, the I can also be confused with L (One typically writes/types abbreviations in upper case)

I've also never heard of ioe but I haven't really watched tech trends like many here. These types of companies would have ample funding to purchase a single word .com imho

The "Internet of Things" is definitely a massive growth area. It's just that the term is never going to be used. it's too all encompassing for the manufacturers of Products with "Internet Connectivity" They don't want to be known as a 'Thing' (or Everything) in any market - Trust me

I also bought ioe2.com and ioe4.com, havn't tried to sell them yet because I think in 1-2 years+ it will be way easier + the domains more valuable.

IoT is in current trend. IoE needs more improvement, i guess it will take atleast 3 years.

Btw, I hold few IoE names like IoENews.com etc., There is no single offers on ioe names but sold couple of iot names in mid XXXX range.

What about IOE in obscure extensions?

I think IOE can be used "naughty" biz. Two words I can think of in that biz starting with E. Like Entertainment and ....... Ero****.

With that biz gravitating towards "family friendly" names for Google not to derank them.

There are some Gonzo studios in that industry who would maybe want to start a YouTube site by cybersquatters on a trillion dollar term?

Yea I decide to keep just Ioe+keyword.com's and let go of the keyword+ioe.com's don't know if that's a good plan or not.

But I do see plenty of keyword+iot.com's being held for years now.

Just wanted to add. I did a random check on Wipo.int for international trademarks and found an interest list just check IOE under the brands section and see what "IOE" trademarks have been registered.

I think if you are lucky and register a domain prior to the trademark being registered. There is value there. so...... maybe IOE is an investment?

I've had 4 offers since ownership and I rejected all 4. Too early to sell and too late to drop. I'm in the same boat as everyone else...
Do I wait it out or do I take a loss, God knows I hate losing....
