Is anybody else like me?

Does anyone else constantly fill up their desktop with useless small edits to files?

Do you then move all those files into a folder called "New Folder 1" on your desktop?

Do you then fill up your desktop with more files until you again, create a folder named "New Folder 2"?

Do you then proceed to do the exact same thing again and again and again?

Whats wrong with me?!

I used to have a desktop full of icons like that, now I have not more than 7/8.

I guess i am one of the few people who takes a day once a week to clean up their desktops? I am strange i can't work if my physical work space is a mess or my computers'.

The only files i keep on my desktop are the files i am working on that day or week and when i am done i clean it up. Makes finding those code snippets easy... then again i am using a mac almost all the time and the search is far more exact then windows.

I keep all my files in a big "Dropbox" folder that is synced with Dropbox. Then it's organized into Projects, Scripts, etc etc. :)

I used to do that BMFX. I found myself wanting to get things done as fast as possible, so rather than adopting some other method i decided to dump organization... O.o

Eric i'm moving towards the same kind of thing, although syncing my files locally onto a 2nd hard drive.

LOL, I'm EXACTLY like you in this aspect. :D

Although for me, it actually sounds funnier than it really is. :( I hate that habit...

Worst of all, I backup these folders on drive D, then I back them up on my external hard drive, and I can never find them because they're listed as e.g. 'laptop march 2011', 'desktop april 2011'. This has been going on for years...I really wish I had thought this through. :D

My desktop used to look like that but a couple of years ago I went with a clean desktop and honestly I havenโ€™t looked back.
