So developing a site will suddenly produce traffic? How will the planet know that I have developed a site if they don't go there? I can only depend on domainers.

no, developing a mobi site will not suddenly produce traffic.

the .mobi extention is not needed.... it was added though.. and now it exists.

you are buying into the hype with this type of stuff man.... whoever is claiming the .mobi TLD has organic type in traffic aside from a few trickles, which i believe are 99-100% domainers.... are likely full of shit... there is some other explanation for the "traffic" this early.

how do people know to go to a .TV domain...... because its advertised places like television.... dotTV is not needed either, but its an option - just accept it man....

Well based on the artcile from CNN Money today I am glad to see Bank of America is proving you wrong.

Bank of America's Mobile Banking Service Grows to 500,000 Active Mobile Customers in Six Months

November 28, 2007: 09:00 AM EST

CHARLOTTE, N.C., Nov. 28 /PRNewswire/ -- Six months after rolling out its Mobile Banking service to consumers nationwide, Bank of America today said it has reached a record 500,000 active mobile customers. According to a recent TowerGroup report, that's more than all other U.S. banks combined.

Bank of America, the nation's leader in online banking with 23 million active online customers, introduced Mobile Banking service in March to consumers in selected markets and expanded the service across the country in May.

"We're thrilled with the initial customer response and expect this trend to continue as more people discover the convenience of accessing their accounts while on-the-go," said Lance Drummond, e-Commerce and ATM executive for Bank of America. "Mobile Banking gives our customers the freedom, control and security to bank anywhere, anytime."

With Mobile Banking, consumers can use phones that have Internet access to:

-- Check balances on their checking, savings and credit card accounts, as
well as mortgages and home equity lines held with Bank of America.
-- Pay their bills and e-bills.
-- Transfer money between accounts and to other Bank of America customers.
-- View transactions for checking and savings accounts, mortgages and home
equity lines, including posted and pending transactions.
-- Access directions to ATMs and banking centers.

Customers are protected with the bank's SiteKey (R) security service, as well as its Zero Liability Online Banking Guarantee. To help protect customer information, the bank has developed a unique end-to-end security feature that encrypts information when sent between the mobile phone and the bank.

The Web-based service is accessible via most major carriers that have mobile Internet access and requires no downloading of software. To access Mobile Banking, customers simply go to the Web browser on their mobile phone and enter http://www.bofa.mobi. Once on the site, customers enter their Online Banking ID and passcode to access their accounts.

You might want to read Post #2 Here to answer some of your concerns.

In the mobi world...you have to build it...and they will come.

Bottom line is, the majority of traffic is SE and directory traffic. Very little direct.

If you're looking for type in parking :$: ....you've come to the wrong extension, :imho:

the point is: that is does not matter either way if you are a complacent millionaire.

why be creative anymore when for years a simple parking page works just fine... it becomes harder to see opportunity.

Gregr, you would have been better off buying my loanbanks.mobi for traffic (:

Greg....its really simple and since you have made loads of money in the domain industry already you should know what to do with a site to make it successful. I have a hard time believing that you think everything makes money on it's own without you having to do anything. I'm sure you have walked into many situations before where money is somehow just flying to you freely. You knew when you bought iphones.mobi that work needed to be done to make it successful.

OK, I think I figured out the point you are making gregr.

You are showing that a fine name like iphones.mobi does not get much type-in traffic. iPhones are popular, therefore if .mobi is successful, you should naturally get much type-in traffic for that name. But you are not, so that proves .mobi is a bomb.

Am I following you correctly so far?

Then next, to really prove your point, you are going to show the amazingly high stats from comparable undeveloped domains in .net & .com from the early 90's.

I am looking forward to the rest of your demonstration. It will finally once and for all prove how .mobi supporters are fools.

gregr, your point is fine. noone can't fight with reality. you went in with correct thinking that you could either flip it and someday possibly get traffic.
you predicted that the traffic probably wouldn't pay for the cost of the domain, and you were right. I don't think anyone should jump on you for that.
suckers comments are your perogative, they won't change the present reality. many of use have bought into the future. we hope it comes through, the sooner the better of course. til then, as long as iphones stays a decent keyword, which it probably will, we can monitor its traffic and get steady doses of reality.

hellometro's mobis were getting a ton of traffic as marketed heavily by their .com cousins...maybe market your iphone on some nice .com's
you have..

:o :? You forgot to note it will also show that - .info, .biz, .eu, .asia (to be), and any other extension supporters are also fools!

Greg, does this mean you'll sell your LLL.com's based on revenue alone? If so, I'm interested.

I've sold plenty of 3 letter .coms based on revenue. One for almost $900K.
