There have been reports on other forum regarding problems with the iphone, like crashes with the safari browser when they visit some sites ,slow network,e.t.c

I belief it is time we start registering on Iphone forum web sites and begin spreading the gospel of .mobi web sites.

Good idea, but I also think that they will come looking for us too. The natural progression of the problems is for them to look for faster, better content.

I don't know if it has anything to do with the iPhone, but since its launch my .mobi traffic is up significantly. I think they're already looking.

i like it. can we all put some short and sweet thing together, when the reviews look too self motivated or poorly written they tend to have a negative effect on me.

e.g. on menupages when an ad is clearly written by the restaurant itself responding to a prior email. they can be funny too,

I don't understand why so many people from the .mobi camp are bashing this phone so much. I happen to think that the iPhone is a great device and it presents a powerful platform for all mobile developers (including .mobi developers) to work with. I think we (especially the developers) should be embracing this phone instead of bashing it. Just my opinion on the subject.

Because it takes forever to load regular .com's on it, which is what Apple is hyping it for. I agree, though, it can only be good for .mobi because of this problem.

Most of the people here are bashing the Iphone's "capabilities of surfing the real/full blown web, blabla, not the mobile web ..." I think, not the Iphone in his whole.

I agree its a great device and it also present great opportunity to explain the importance of dotmobi.some people with the iphone said they experience crashes, slow connection, e.t.c , so this is not bashing but reality.

Its time to explain to people that going to dotmobi sites could make a difference.
I honestly disagree with the notation of using a mobile device to access a full blown site as this sometimes could create some enormous challenge such as the gigantic information one has to browse thru with may be little or no time.

Access to web sites with mobile device should be done in the context of mobility rather than the context of laptop or pc.

I think iPhone users are starting to figure that out. Hopefully Apple will too on version II of the iPhone.

Yep. Back when I was running Pocket PC 2002 (a mobile version of MS Windows for pdas and phones), someone made a hack to run full blown Windows 98 on a pda -- equipped with Office and all the other goodies one would expect. Start times of ~ 10 minutes, loading a program took minutes, typing lagged several seconds after you typed in the letter...

Some things are better of running "mobile" versions...

But remember, "This is not the 'mobile' version of the internet.....it's just the internet....on your phone"

LOL, yeah ok whatever :yell: nice try.
