Bought a new .io domain through sedo last week a NN.io , bit of an investment and gamble but worth a shot in my opinion.

Anyone investing in .io domains? please feel free to share your investments.

Cheers

I think there is nothing special with .io domains.
.ly domains have been used for years for a few popular sites, and .fm continues to be used by some Internet radio stations. There are other examples of alt extensions.
But nowadays you don't hear a lot about these TLDs. Because I think it's a fad...
is normal that people who have huge portfolios of .com's or just few, have such opinions.
The .com is the most famous actually? Yes.
Will be the most important forever? Nobody knows.
This is not the end of anything, but seems is the end of the focused speculation with .com's
I only know that Nothing last forever. everything are permanently changing.
Now there are hundreds of new TLD's and I like some some of them.
But, the extension that give me best feelings is .io
Why? just nice and special feelings and sensations.
I'm working in some personal projects and all of them will have .io as extension.
And yes, I'm investing a huge money on them too.
if there are some good .io in your portfolio and you want to sell it, here you have a potential buyer, feel free to drop a pm.

I'm holding a few:

Bikini.io
ECF.io (EquityCrowdfunding*Wildcard) or eCommerce*Wildcard)
Dentists.io
MovingCompany.io
Newsgroup.io
Temps.io

I'd value your thoughts.

I like Bikini and ECF best. The rest are too generic IMO. I think you either gotta have a solid tech name or a nice "brandable" type feel in .io.

How much money would you be willing to pay (max) for your favorite .io domain right now, if you had a good amount of money available to invest?

Thank you Nat, I do agree. Those are my two favorites as well. Temps.io and NewsGroups.io next with Dentists.io and MovingCompany.io follow the pack. Moving Company does have a very high CPC and in an abstract sense, dentists do input and output teeth :)

I like Bikini, not as a site to sell bikinis so much as a BRAND called Bikini that could technically be in any business.

And I think that LLL has some margin of safety just due to shortness and the huge amount of companies whose name could be abbreviated to LLL.

I noticed that the conservative US political magazine The Weekly Standard uses TWS.io to shorten their links on Twitter.

Excellent thoughts. I'm a big believer in redirecting my domains to social networks. I use LikeUs.net to redirect to my FB page and FavoriteUs.com to redirect to my Twitter account. Social networks may come in and out of style and your redirected domain allows you to to keep-up with the changes.
